Announcement on discontinuation of support for MSSQL server 2008

Dear Users,

This notification is relevant to customers having ServiceDesk Plus hosted on MSSQL server 2008 in their environment. To address several adversities, it is always a best practice in the technology industry to substitute old products with new products over certain period of time.

As ServiceDesk Plus evolves, we are encountering several obstructions due to older versions of hardwares. By the end of October 2023, customers using MSSQL server 2008 and earlier in the backend to host the ServiceDesk Plus database will no longer be able to upgrade ServiceDesk Plus.

To be able to upgrade, we suggest that users move MSSQL to one of the following versions: 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022. We also highly recommend that customers using MSSQL server 2012 and 2014 to begin planning for a upgrade to versions mentioned above.

To know more about MSSQL requirements, refer to our admin guide.
