We're using SDP for our internal IT department, but would like to also use it for customer tickets. We have currently created a customer as a fake department and added a user and assigned it to that department. That seems to work and we can add more users to the same department.
We would also like the customer to select the service that the incident is about, if they create the ticket through the self-service portal. For that to be possible the service needs to be an asset, so we created a new CI type in the CMDB and marked it as an non-IT asset. We then created the service that we're delivering to the customer and assigned it to the customers department.
So far so good... the issue is that the user is not able to select that service as an asset, since it's not assigned directly to the user, but to the department. Is it possible to have department assets available when choosing the asset during ticket creation?
