Im not to sure which upgrade(9100 or 9101) as they were both done near enough to each other but all my devices that i spent hours and hours if not days setting up with custom alerts and notifications and t/holds on interfaces etc all defaulted back to a Category of :Unknown, thus removing any custom settings i had applied.

So critical devices that i thought were on 1 minute polling with 4 different alerts set are now set to 60 minute polls and not notification.

I have a backup of Opmanager taken in febuary that i will have to restore = more downtime, which hopefully will restore my settings !

 

My advise, check your devices to ensure that they have not reset to unknown after every upgrade

Make a backup  before ANY upgrade

 

My only saving grace is i also use Eventlog analyser and it alerts me on route changes and neighbour drops on my critical routers, only for this someone could have easily lost their job for not responding to issues!!!!

 

Mybe support can make it part of the backup process that by default before an upgrade , it takes a backup of the critical database info.
