[Alert] Inconsistent mailbox report data in M365 Manager Plus due to Microsoft service incident - EX1078664

[Update - June 06, 2025] Microsoft incident EX1078664 resolved: M365 Manager Plus Exchange Online reports fully operational.

Microsoft has confirmed the resolution of their service incident EX1078664. This affected the Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet used to collect the data for some Exchange Online reports in M365 Manager Plus. All affected reports are now working as expected.

Microsoft has acknowledged a service incident (Incident ID: EX1078664) that is currently affecting the usage of the Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet in Exchange Online PowerShell. When the cmdlet is used to collect mailbox data, it fails for some mailboxes, and admins receive an error that states "Failed to commit the change on object" "because access is denied".
As M365 Manager Plus retrieves mailbox statistics from Exchange Online using the same cmdlet, the following reports may fail to generate with the error "Forbidden. You do not have permission to perform this operation" or display inconsistent data.
  • Archive Mailbox Sizes

  • Attachment by File Size

  • Current Mailbox Size vs Quota

  • Inactive Exchange Users

  • Inactive Mailboxes

  • Inactive Shared Mailboxes

  • Mailbox Sizes

  • Never Logged On Exchange Users

  • OWA Logon by Users

  • Shared Mailbox Size
