Agent Setting - Enable Firewall Settings
When looking at the configuration settings for the Agent in DC6, it has the option to Enable Firewall Settings. In the popup balloon is specifies four things that will be set if you enable this:
1) Enabling Remote Administration
2) Enabling DCOM
3) Adding File and Printer Sharing to the Exceptions
4) Enabling Simple File Sharing in Windows XP
The only problem that I have is #4. Why does DC6 need to enable this? Almost all of our machines (in a Domain and Active Directory environment) are set to uncheck this option. If we enable this we loose the function to be able to check security while logged in as a user. Will this setting only affect users, or does it affect administrators on those computers also? Would it be possible to have an option to be able to check #1-3 but not #4?
Thx.
