I'd like to suggest a new feature, the business would like as soon as possible, but we've not found in ADSelfService Plus or other competitor software.

 

We're already using the AD Self Service and having users update their own details through it (including our own custom AD Schema additions), this is great.

 

However, we need the direct Manager of a user, to have the ability to edit that user's details, using the same simple Self Service tool.

 

We realise there is ADManager from ManageEngine, however this provides a group of super users (eg. HR) to manage all or a group of users based on OU, this is not an acceptable solution, we don't have the OU structure for this and we only want direct managers the ability to update subordinates, our HR is located in an entirely different company division who have no interest whatsoever to be able to create and edit users.

 

Self Service already uses the AD Manager field to map out the Copmany Directory, it should not be too difficult to use this field to identify the subordinates the Manager can edit in addition to their own details through self service.

 

Please consider adding this feature to the next release of Self Service, AD Manager is not suitable for us.
