Adding existing Desktop Central Server to Domain(Active Directory)

Hi,
Currently, we have a desktop Central server which is a workgroup computer. Now we have a plan to move the server to Domain(Active Directory) as per our business requirements. Can anybody help me in getting the dependency of the desktop central server on the domain? will there be any impact on the DC server after domain joining?
