Adapt For IT Consulting Work???
I just downloaded the eval version & I'm excited to try it out. It looks great and the price is right. I have a few questions:
1) I'm an IT consultant & I take care of several separate networks for different clients...basically functioning as an out-sourced IT dept. Would I be able to use this product to manage support requests & asset management for all of my clients simultaneously? In other words, could I VPN into these other networks, discover the assets & do inventories? What would I need to do to make this scenario work?
2) Can portions of the program be installed & run from a hosted web server? My current solution is MySQL/PHP based and runs directly from my company's website. This allows my various clients to log in at my web site to open & view tickets, etc. Would I be able to access both the Admin & Requestor interfaces via the web? How could I implement this using your product?
3) Are the user definable fields I can assign to each ticket for billable hours, hourly rates, rate levels, etc.? I'd need to be able to adapt the system to track charges for the work I perform.
