Acknowledging interface alerts
As an ISP I have several 7500 and 7200 series routers that host customer ckts. When one or several ckts, as the case may be sometimes, go down I see the serial port down on the router and get a corresponding alarm such as:
CORE-1 Serial12/0/0/4:1 is down, Serial8/0/0/7:1 is down, Serial8/0/0/5:1 is down, Serial8/0/0/26:1 is down, Serial8/0/0/3:2 is down, Serial8/0/0/1:1 is down, Serial5/1/0/22:1 is down, Serial5/1/0/18:1 is d
(this router is in miami and is still recovering from Katrina)
I need the ability to go have a separate alarm generated for each interface that goes down and repeat that alarm in an escalation rule until it is ack'd. I also need to be able to ack with notes each individual interface that is down, because obviously they go down for different reasons 99% of the time.
It's not readily apparent to me how this can be done, please advise.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan Leach
