It would be highly beneficial to have the ability to tag entire support groups in the same way we can tag individual technicians using the @Name format. This feature would allow us to notify multiple members simultaneously when we need to bring attention to a group rather than a single technician.
Use Case
For instance, if a request comes in with certain issues and we need to confirm with our Infrastructure team that there are no active network issues before we start troubleshooting, we could add a note with:
@Infrastructure could you please confirm there are no active issues at this site?
This would notify all technicians in the existing Infrastructure support group.
Current Workaround
If we need to notify a support group, we have to either tag multiple technicians individually or use another method outside of ServiceDesk Plus to communicate with the team. We often use tasks as another method to accomplish this, but occasionally a quick note is all that’s needed.
Benefits
- Streamlines communication by reducing the need to tag multiple individuals or use external communication methods.
- Ensures that all relevant team members are notified simultaneously, reducing the risk of miscommunication.
- Simplifies the process of adding quick notes for group notifications.
If there is a pre-existing method to achieve this that we might have missed, please let us know. Otherwise, we believe this feature would greatly enhance our workflow and improve overall efficiency.
