Ability to Clone and Reorder Field and Form Rules (for Unified Multi-Department Forms

We are building a unified, interactive incident/service request form in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud to support multiple departments—Technology, Facilities, Events, and Security—at a K–12 school. We're using extensive Field and Form Rules to dynamically manage visibility, behavior, and dependencies based on user input.

Problem:
As the number of rules grows, maintaining logic order and consistency becomes painful:

  • There’s no way to reorder existing rules. If one must execute earlier, it must be recreated from scratch.

  • There’s no way to clone an existing rule, even if only minor tweaks are needed. Re-entering dozens of conditions and actions is error-prone and time-consuming.

  • Managing logic in large, unified forms quickly becomes unwieldy and discourages efficient development.

Why this matters:

  • Our use case is not unique: more organizations are consolidating request flows into unified smart forms.

  • Without the ability to clone or reorder rules, maintaining these forms becomes frustrating, especially during iterative testing and enhancements.

  • This lack of tooling increases the risk of errors, slows deployment, and creates unnecessary technical debt.

Feature Request:
✅ Add a “Clone” or “Duplicate” button to Field and Form Rules
✅ Allow drag-and-drop or up/down reordering of rules
✅ Optionally allow grouping or color-tagging for maintenance clarity
✅ Maintain trigger type (e.g., "On Field Change") during clone

Impact:
This would dramatically improve maintainability, speed up workflow development, and support larger or more dynamic use cases—especially in education, facilities, and shared services environments.

We would love to see this in an upcoming release. If others agree, please upvote and share your use case!
