A few questions (Cisco related)
I'm just having a first look at OpManager and am quite charmed by it. I'm looking for a tool to easily monitor resources on my switches/routers and possibly more.
OpManager finds a lot of devices automatically and does look very nifty...

Something I've been struggling with though. On a network x.y.z.0/24 I have 2 identical 4506 switches. One is discovered and snmp managed (blue star) without any problem, where the other isn't.
Adding the second device manually gets it thrown in under the "Desktop" group. Even when I change this, and add the device Type manually to match the first 4506 (Catalyst 4500), it still doesn't find it. Issueing a "rediscover" command still fails to see it properly as the SNMP enable device that it is.
Strings are correct and I can browse both devices equally using the MibBrowser. Asking for the sysDescr.0 on both devices gave me the following result:
Sent get request to x.y.z.1 : 161
sysDescr.0:Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4000 L3 Switch Software (cat4000-I5S-M), Version 12.2(25)EW, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Also, running the mib browser from within the web interface seems to cause an error, more specifically:
Exception:Reading/Parsing MIB:java.io.FileNotFoundException: Could not open file C:/Program
Looks like it's having problems with the windows paths. Is it preferable to run this product on a *nix machine?
3)
On the "Home" page, it is showing me my alarms. For example, it's telling me some of the interfaces on one of the routers is down. I know, there's nothing hooked up to it. How do I tell it that "no, really, it's okay. It's supposed to be down?" It's keeps telling me the ports are down and I keep clearing/acknowledging the events, but it still keeps telling me.
4)
On the Home page, it gives me a few overviews, for example "Routers with high memory utlization". At the moment, Im more interested in seeing my switches with high memory utilization. Is there a way of adding this to the home page? Also... is it possible to run a custom report which gives me the the output of multiple devices?
If I missed these in the user guide, I apologise.

Eva
