A couple of evaluation questions.
We are evaluating your Service Desk Plus and it seems to be well integrated and have a very user friendly interface. My compliments to you. We have a couple of questions related to our evaluation that you may be able to clarify for us.
1. How well does the system scale with multiple users/techs/assets? Specifically, what is the suggested server hardware specifications you would recommend to support 10 techs, 400 computers, 400 requesters and 10,000 asset items, on a 100Mb managed switch network to minimize performance degradation.
2. After a workstation scan (which is excellent and well implemented and will save us hours of audit time), the workstations are not added as assets. This makes sense, especially for the software assets. New assets should be easily managed, but is there a way to create and predate the purchase orders so that we are able to incorporate existing equipment and warrantee information?
Example: 50 computers purchased in 2003 with a 3 year warrantee (1 years left)
50 computers purchased in 2004 with a 3 year warrantee (2 years left)
Predating the creation date of the purchase order is blocked (which is good) but what method would you recommend for entering pre-existing data?
3. We are looking for the ability to filter by the assigned user. When we bring up the Inventory tab, then the All Workstations tab, a very useful list is generated, which can be filtered by all of the column headings, with the exception of the last one, the "Assigned To" column. Is there a different page or report that would cross reference the assigned user and the workstation?
4. Finally, the Organization Details limits the first line of the street address to 10 characters. All subsequent lines are the full width of the form box. This may be related to international postal conventions.
Overall, we are pleasantly surprised at the depth and functionality of your software and would appreciate these clarifications.
