7.5 & Server 2008, MySQL or MS SQL that is the question
Hi,
I've seen in previous posts about any issues running SDP on Windows Server 2008 that SDP is going to be officially supported on 2008 from the release of 7.5. However, looking at the info pages it's not mentioned on there, is server 2008 going to be supported now?
I'm just wondering, as we're coming to the end of our tether now with the system keep crashing several times a day, despite several calls to support & configuration changes.
We're looking at completely starting a fresh (TBH a last straw attempt), building a new virtual server, which will have Windows Server 2008 installed.
4gb RAM
Either single or Dual processor <-we haven't decided on that yet.
And having a complete fresh install of SDP 7.5 & restoring our DB across.
Which leads on to another question with regards to the DB.
We've currently been using MS SQL, but as I said we're clutching at straws now on trying to get this functioning correctly for us & were wondering would it be better for us to use My SQL as that is what SDP was originally designed for, and if this is the most viable option, is it easy to convert our MS SQL database to use with MySQL (Presumable using changeDBserver.bat?) as we can't have any data loss?
Sorry for that being a bit muddled etc!
Cheers,
