2017 : A feature retrospective


Thanks to the  continued support and feedback from you, the year 2017 has been a great experience in terms of learning and development. In this article, we bring you a roundup of the top 10 features introduced in 2017.   


1. Report gallery: Get the latest reports without the hassle of building them from scratch. Copy pre-built report and dashboard templates from the gallery. This option is currently available only for ServiceDesk Plus, ServiceDesk Plus MSP, SupportCenter Plus, OpManager, Applications Manager integrations, and will be extended to other out of the box integrations in the future.




2. Support for new help desk modules: We've extended support for a few new modules such as Change Mana gement and Service Catalog in ServiceDesk Plus, and ServiceDesk Plus MSP.



3. New chart types added: Create vibrant reports and dashboards using new visualizations such as bubble chart , packed bubble chart, bullet and dial  charts









4. New chart colors: Now pick your chart colors from a custom palette, and choose between solid, monochrome, or gradient colors for your charts. 



5. Connect with data from cloud databases: You can now import data from cloud databases such as Google cloud, Heroku PostgreSQL, and Amazon Redshift. 



6. FTP import option introduced: Now you can import data  files (.csv, json, .xls and more) directly from your FTP servers. 




7. Improved drill down feature: D ynamically select the drill down path from the chart interface and choose from the list of related columns. You can also configure additional columns to be listed in the drop down. 



8. Improved "View Underlying Data" option: With the new 'View Underlying  data'  feature,  you get to toggle between data from related tables. Earlier, you could only view data from individual tables, whereas now, you can see data from individual tables in addition to the related table.   




9. Multi-layered Lookup: Configure a cascading lookup with three columns from different tables. This feature is similar to ' multiple JOINS' in an SQL statement.  




10. Improved scalability: Scalability improvements to process large data volumes and enable faster report generation.
