2 questions: remote client and archive reports..

I was wondering about two things recently:

Is it possible to just install the client and point it to an opmanager server? The client has more functionality than the web client--such as creating and managing business views--and it is kind of cumbersome to have to remote control the opmanager server every time we need to perform those activities.

Also, one we have a year's worth of data, how would one archive that data, yet still be able to report on it if necessary? The archiving of the db is easy of course, but not sure how to pull reports out of it. Is it possible to have an archive type license of opmanager that does no polling, but is just there for archive reporting form the backed up db?
