[Performance] What hardware do we need?
Hello,
First of all, I want to let you know that AdventNet ServiceDesk Plus (Free) is one of the best solutions I've ever seen for anyone who wants to organize his IT knowledge and make customers smile by helping them fast and efficient!
I have a few questions about the performance:
I'm running ServiceDesk Plus on a very simple Compaq server system (PII 300MHz, 256mb RAM) in a small local network (100mbit). It didn't take long to decide to upgrade te RAM, because the application eated all my swap space away and the performance where terrible... So I upgraded the RAM to 768mb and moved the swap space to a fast 10K SCSI harddisk. After a few reboots the performance improved a lot. But, loading the requests list still takes almost 15 seconds with a server side CPU load of 100%.
First question: What are the minimum and advised system requirements for a ServiceDesk Plus server? I didn't find them yet.
Second question: What else could I do to improve the performance of ServiceDesk Plus except for upgrade the CPU or the complete server system?
Another (offtopic) question: Is it possible to indicate when any language translations are available?
Also I would like to know if it is possible or will be possible to change the way request ID's looks. I would like something like R0506-0005 ('R' stands for Request, 05 for the year 2005, 06 for the month June and '0005' is the fifth request in this month.)
Thanks in Advance,
Ronald from the Netherlands (Holland).
