Reduced privileged user to do backup
We are trying to implement a reduced level user that cannot make changes but has access to perform backups. Currently we have a user that has priv 3: username devexpert privilege 3 password 7 However, when logging in with that user, it requires the command to display the running config to be different from what device expert is using.... you need to issue the command "show run view full" to get the running config. Is there a way to change the command device experts issues to dump the config? I
Device Expert not working with Chrome browser
Hello, we are running Device Expert: Version : 5.9.6 Build Number : 5960 Using Chrome the links to main objects work, Home, inventory etc, but the links any objects on these pages do not work. This is universal across all my Chrome users who are running several versions of Chrome so I think it is something in DE. All links work in IE and Firefox. Was wondering if anyone else had seen this and if so, is there a fix?
Change approval with notes - Report
Hi, I am interested how to get report on approved changes from Device Expert with comments entered during the approval process. When we approve changes we indicate comments for each changes. If it is not possible to get this report from the web, could you please let us know how to get it from the database. Thank you

Advanced Custom Criteria for "line" blocks on Cisco devices
Hello, is there a possibilty to use the Advanced Custom Criteria in Device Expert (Build 5990) on the "line" configuration blocks like it is used for "interface" configuration blocks? My problem is, that other than the "interface" blocks (where every block is closed with a "!"), only the last "line" block is closed with a "!". I tried to use "^line" as block start and "^(!|line)" as block end marker, but this leaves out every other block, since block end and block start could not be the same line.

Device stopped backing up - unable to identify why
Hello, One of my devices all of a sudden stopped backing itself up. It's a Nokia Checkpoint firewall. I have other Nokia devices which backup normally - all use the same credentials but this one fails every time. What can I do try and identify the reason for this? thanks Nilesh
Issue in configuration upload
Dear all, I am having a strange issue on uploading configuration to device cisco switch 2960s. On some devices, I can upload configuration normally. But on some other devices with the same series+same model+same IOS+same IP subnet+same existing config (no access-list blocking), it says "upload of configuration to this device is not supported" Can anyone help me with this problem? Change database name
Hello We have OpManager build 11300 and NCM plugin. All the time the NCM installer creates the database named 'deviceexpert'. Our database administrator has standard for the database names. Is it possible to change deviceexpert for bda_deviceexpert? Regards Orlando

Compliance rule
Dear, I see that I can only use configuration file in oreder to create rule. I would like to use show output. Example: I would like to check ntp sinhronization using command "sh ntp status". I can check ntp part of configuration but "sh ntp status" is better way. Thanks

Switch configs not downloading to tftp server on 2nd interface
Hi, We have DeviceExpert build 5981 installed on MS Server 2012. The server has 2 interfaces on different vlans. One vlan is able to download configs via tftp without issue. The other isn't as it is trying to find the tftp server on the that is on the 1st interfaces vlan. So the command that it is running is: copy running-config tftp 10.0.0.X SWITCH_CONFIG instead of copy running-config tftp 10.0.100.X SWITCH_CONFIG I have set tftp to bind to all interfaces (0.0.0.0) but it doesn't resolve the issue.

Dear Team, DeviceExpert time is not match with our System time. currently DeviceExpert application shows 3:38:48 , but windows system show 2.18 PM. Please guide us to sync with System and DeviceExpert application.

Dear, I have rule which check for example "no ip http server". When I check compliance some devices violeted. Is there any simply way to execute command "no ip http server" only on violeted devices. Limitations of Advanced Script Execution
I am looking for additional documentation, forum posts or other assistance with Advanced Script execution in DeviceExpert. From what I can tell there is no method to have the script engine perform a command and based on the output of that command then perform a second command. Backup failed for Cisco 3750x_Stack
We have successfully added and tested credentials for stack of 6xCisco_3750x following DeviceExpert help example Cisco IOS device - directly entered into enable mode. But all our tries to backup it are failed. We've tried SSH-TFTP and SSH protocols for backup with the same result - Failure Response(see screenshot). It seems that DevExp tries to do backup twice: first time success and second time (after excess entering into enable mode) - failed. Why does it try to enter in enable mode while we set
pop-up web page prefixed with server name not IP address.
Dear i am trying to show the changes report generated by NCM. when i open the web page, i noticed that it is starting with the server name not with the IP address, so the web page surly will not open.

Switchport Mapper not working on one device
I submit monthly reports detailing how many live interfaces we have. This month, I ran the report and one of my devices was not returning any results with the message "Device Response not available" I've restarted the DeviceExpert server, turned off and on the TFTP server, deleted the device and readded it. I've also found that after deleting and re-adding the device, it isn't being backed up either.... Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Thanks Nilesh

How to change timeout for backup process
I am testing DevEx and having random issues backing up fortigate firewall configs. It seems to work sometimes and not others, and the fortigates indicate that the SSH connection from DevEx has timed out. Is there a way to adjust the timeout settings for the fortigate backups.

Hi I want to be able to pull config files (text) from an application running on a linux server. It is much like getting a config from a router. I just need device expert to ssh to the host, and copy several config files. Can I add new vendors, and a generic device for this task? It seems that DE has all the needed tools to do it. Thx
ASA Backup Problem
Hello there I am trying to back my Cisco Firewalls and most of them are doing fine and complets the backup in a few seconds but i have around 5 FWs that do not complet 5520/5510/5505 all are runing same version and i have managed to back about 13 FWs before them they dont seem to fail as i am wrighting this they have treid to backed for about 2 hours. Any ides?
