Migrate Desktop Central Database to AWS Aurora or RDS Native postgresql
Is it possible to migrate the DC Database to Aurora with postgresql compatibility or to RDS native pgsql? I only see an option for MSSQL in the migration wizard. Thanks!
The latest update for Windows Defender (1.299.2640.0) - Download Success but checksum failed
Got an issue this morning with the latest update for Windows Defender (1.299.2640.0) Patch ID 400009 "Download Success but checksum failed" on workstations. Checking the patch, it says it failed to download, "Download blocked by firewall/antivirus. Enable firewall configuration or exclude antivirus to allow download", however there is a 400009-mpam-fe file in the store of 110 MB size. I've tried deleting and re-downloading but this hasn't helped. I've checked the firewall and antivirus, this is not
Passcode, GEO Location, phone number Reset Android 9
Hi All, We have struck an issue with our latest Samsung A20 devices running Android Version 9 where we can not change the passcode of the device through the MDM, nor can we clear the passcode. Other issues that we are having are: GEO Location is not detecting the location of the device The SIM Phone number is not coming through. Remote connection to Mac Os X 10.14.5 Mojave won't work
Hello, I am trying to reach mac computers using remote control, current version of mac is Mojave 10.14.5 . When I initiate the connection using HTML, a new window pops up but shows green screen with an indicator constantly moving left and right. I have no problems on win computers. I can see the green light on Actions menu of mac in inventory section, every other option is working but remote connection. Software Deployment versus Patch Management
Does anyone know if Software Deployment configuration and Patch Management deployment would conflict with one another? What I mean is, if I set up a Default Workstations software configuration under Software Deployment based on the Dynamic Group of Windows Workstations Windows 7 through Windows 10. I have 12 default applications within the software configuration that would go on all computers. I have the pre-check installation requirement check for the existing software, example Google Chrome version 76.0.3809.87.

Enumerating Drive Mappings
Hello I was surprised to learn that some of our mapped drives are NOT being applied by Group Policy Preferences. There's also no evidence of logon scripts. That leaves me to think - in my position of lack of expertise around Desktop Central - that perhaps they're being mapped by Desktop Central. Is there a report I can run to find out? Cheers Jeff

Version numbers and what to upgrade?
Hi, I'm confused at what version I should be running, but I'm not sure how to get much clarification. We reported an issue a while back and were sent a ppm hotfix update which we've applied however if i look in the "whats new in desktop central" part the version I have and the version that is shown is now seemingly out of synch. There's also the fact that if i change the page from normal to add a 1 in i get a different version number. Windows 10 LTSB version upgrade 1607 > 1809
Hi, I have a lot of systems running Windows 10 Enterprise x64 LTSB 2016 (1607). I would like to upgrade these to Windows 10 Enterprise x64 LTSC 2019 (1809). I can do this manually by opening the LTSC 2019 iso, running setup.exe, selecting 'keep files and apps' - this will upgrade windows without touching programs or user data. Do we need to do any special steps prior to creating and pushing an image for the Desktop Central agent if we use the Desktop Central OS Deployment tool? Or do we need to deploy the agent after?
SoM computers more than Inventory computers
In our Desktop Central, I've noticed that when you go to SoM > Computers, it lists around 1400 computers. But when you go to Inventory > Computers, it lists around 1300. Why is there a 100+ difference in listings? Can we add the asset tag/serial number column to the SoM > Computer report? We're trying to determine why the discrepancy in numbers, and how it's affecting our patch numbers.
Send mass command prompt commands?
I have a command that i'd like to send out to multiple computers. They are all windows machines and they are all command prompt commands. Is this possible, or do I have to go through each computer individually using the System Manager command prompt tool? Thanks! -Joe
Deploying Office 2016
I am having a hard time deploying our copy of Office 2016. I am working with the standard version, not Pro Plus, or O365. I am using a .exe file and a .xml file. The goal is to perform an unattended, silent installation with the product key included. So far some of my deployments has shown successful but when I check the target computer I see the software has not been installed. Most often my deployments are stuck "In Progress" and eventually I get a message that some of my silent switches
Office 2019 (Windows) update issue
Hi, My Windows systems have Office 2019 build 16.0.10348.20020 installed. Desktop Central shows patch "27257 Office2019_installer_16.0.10349.20017_x64.exe MS19-O2019" as being applicable to these machines. I have tested deploying it -- office 2019 is updated to 16.0.10349.20017 however the built in update checker (Account > Check for updates) stops working ; checks for updates fail with the error "30182-27 (3)". Systems that have not been updated by desktop central are able to update via this method

Modify existing scheduled report - PC

Remote Control on MacOS
I am unable to get Remote Control to work on a Mac client. The action log in DC shows "Remote Control failed to connect with MACOS- TEST.<b>Reason:</ b> Communication failed between Agent and Server". Windows machines on the same network are able to have Remote Control sessions connect successfully. The mac is fully patched, and has Agent 10.14.16. I also tried it on a second mac on the same subnet and received the same results. I'm not seeing anything amiss on the Mac's logs that point to an issue.
Removing Distribution Servers
Hello, I have 5 Distribution Servers configured in my Desktop Central environment. Since several of my remote offices are very small I would like to remove the Distribution server in those offices and have them communicate with the local office over our MPLS. Do I just simply just remove the remote office and the IP scope which is configured? Will the agents automatically start using the local office as their point of contact?
User did factory reset
When an employee quit they factory reset the device before handing it back in. Somehow this completely severed the link with Manage Engine. We cannot communicate with the device anymore. The device has been logged into and it doesn't have the MDM installed on it. Apps not automatically installing
Hello, I am using Mobile Device Manager for Manage Engine Desktop Central. When I go to deploy an app or update, I have the option to send the install to the ME app catalog on their devices, or do a silent install. With a silent install, I am under the impression that it is supposed to install without any user intervention on the device. Instead, it sends a pop-up message to the device asking if it wants to proceed with the install. Should this be happening? Thanks, Joe Satow

Hi, If I click on the inventory in DC and then click inventory reports, and then recently installed software the report loads fine. However if I scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the right arrow to go to the next page, all it does is load a blank page and nothing else. If I change the amouint of records shown on the first page it does display more, but again as soon as I click on the right arrow again it loads just a blank page.
