Hi, I've having trouble trying to figure out how to run schedulled reports for the patch management. What I want is to schedule a report to run on the 1st of every month. Within this report i want a list of installed patches for specific devices. So the report would show: PC Name Patches installed Patch install date Can this be done and in this format? Thanks Colin
ESU MAK Key for Windows 7 - Script Arugments
We have purchased a few keys for testing in our environment. However, after creating the configuration, I am not sure how to add the key. All the description says is: Deploy ESU MAK Key for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 / R2 machines. Specify MAK key as Script Argument. Configuration Type - COMPUTER So how would the argument be formatted to include the ESU Key? DO i just enter in the key with hyphens in the argument box and nothing else? Do I need to append or prefix it with anything?
Pre-Deployment Software Uninstall
Hi, We are using a software called Uinson, they are shortly going to be coming out with a new version, which will require us to deploy a new piece of software and uninstall the old version. I am currently trying to configure a pre-deployment task to uninstall the old version before completing the install. I am running into an error stating the handle is invalid. How to execute a Powershell script
Hello, I'm trying to run a Powershell script on DC, but when I add the script to the Script Repository and deploy it, even though the result is "Executed", when I go to the computer on which the deployment ran, it's like nothing really happened. The question is, how can i run a Powershell script on DesktopCentral...? Am I doing something wrong or is the capability not available? Thank you.
Unable to deploy images to Sk Hynix SSD NVMe drives
Dell is using Sk Hynix drives in several models now and we are unable to boot to deploy images as it does not detect these drives. I have tried everything to get the drivers (Dell does not provide them) but no combination of disk/storage drivers will allow the USB Boot drive to see the drives. I can boot from a Windows 10 ISO with no problems. The Desktop Central ISO and USB boot media has no luck. I have even added every driver available on our Desktop Central server with no luck. Desktop Central Assets Not Showing in Service Desk
We're trying to use Custom Actions - Install\Uninstall Software and when we try to find the Workstation in the drop down it doesn't show. We have Desktop Central and it's agents are installed. The machine in question shows in DC and we have our Integration settings set-up. However some PCs are not pulling into SD. Is there a way to force the assets over manually and where can we look to see what might be failing? On prem SD (11010) and DC (442). Thanks for any advice.
Desktop Central Mobile app Unable to Reach Server
Hi everyone, I am curious if anyone can point me in the direction of what to look at for a issue with the mobile app. I am playing around with desktop central and I can not get the mobile app to connect to the DC server. Ports 443,8443,8031,8027 are all open. I can access it via the internet through the web address listed under admin-global settings-mobile app and it works just fine with everything working. Workflow for change request in SDP to rollout patches in desktop central?
i'm not sure if i'm missing it, but while we have both servicedesk plus and desktop central with integration enabled, i don't see any easy way to approve patches from servicedesk plus and then roll them out to specific computers. i can always copy and paste the list of patches into a change request and reference the system(s) manually, but that seems a wasted opportunity on ManageEngine's part. I need to know how to query for the installation of Java across our domain. Not a specific version, but something like %Java% so that it would find everything Java or Oracle and then list every host that has it installed. I don't necessarily need to know what version of Java is installed though that would be a nice benefit, to be honest. Pushing cscript command
We have used Desktop Central to push Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrades. After upgrading, Office 2016 becomes deactivated. When I re-enter the VL Mac key, Office reactivates. To speed things up I wanted to push the key to the deactivated clients. Can we get an up to date Desktop Central guide in actual book format or PDF format? I need something portable to take with me where i don't always have internet access to look through whats currently available. Can I decline patches for Windows OS families?
Is there a way to decline patches that apply to specific Windows versions? For example, my organization does not use Desktop Central to manage our servers, only our end-user workstations. Therefore, none of the Windows Server patches will ever be needed. I know that I can decline all patches for third-party apps, like Mozilla Firefox or WinSCP, by going to "Patch Mgmt > Patches > Decline Patch" and selecting the product I want to decline patches for. Is there a similar way to decline all patches

Is there an actual, physical ManageEngine Desktop Central book, instead of just the online documentation? I don't always have my laptop or tablet with me to read things online and I prefer actual books when studying and reviewing material. If not, is there an available ebook for download?

Distributing click-once programs
Hi. Can Desktop Central manage the deployment of click-once packages? As far as I know they are run using the actual user credentials so they can't be distributed via Desktop Central unless it is done one computer at a time and knowing the user password. I am quite sure there a different way to do this; Office 2013 is a click-once application, but it can be distributed if I create the package using the Office Deployment Tool, so I hope I can achieve the same result with any other click-once application.

Bind DesktopCentral to IP/FQDN
I am attempting to bind the DesktopCentral server to a specific IP/FQDN without success. I'm able to successfully bind to a specific IP on the host server, however I'm then unable to access DesktopCentral via the FQDN. I would like to run DesktopCentral as well as ADAuditPlus on the same server with both using port 443 for web console access, but until I can get this resolved I'm stuck. I was able to do this with ServiceDesk Plus and there are instructions to do the same for ADAudit and ADSelf-Service

How to keep "In Store" assets from getting changed by the system...
Is there a way to keep "In Store" assets from being altered through scans, etc. automatically? They are getting changed to In Use to the last user it was assigned to, even though I changed it to "In Store". Once "In Store", it shouldn't be changed until we pull and assign.

How to register users to computers
I was task to go into our Active Directory, under Users and Computers, and for every computer, assign a user under Managed By. I wonder if there is an easy way to do this in Desktop Central or AD Manager. Thanks!
