Some computers in SoM getting error after trying agent installation (The target account name is incorrect. ). I read KB and there is only one description. Cause When a computer is imaged and copied in a different computer, you will find two computers with the same account name. But i don't have in my domain computers with same names.. Duplicate computers MacOS
Good day, All Mac computers are connected to the domain. When the agent is automatically installed, they are registered with the local domain name xxx.local The business domain name remains on the list of computers. How can you leave only the enterprise domain name so that there are no duplicate computers?

Unable to list the computers
Team, I'm not sure if this is for me only, but I find one problem in the new Create Group page. If I select 6 or more Domains/Workgroups in the Domain field; while creating a static group; I can see no computers listed in List tab of Available Computers. As I add the Domains/Workgroups, the list is populating until I click the 6th one. I tried in all possible combinations from the list of Domains/Workgroups and its the same -- as I add the 6th Domain/Workgroup, the List tab shows no computers. I
DC Patch Management patch not detected...
Patch: 2020-01 Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4497165) Microsoft Windows Update identifies this system as requiring this update. However, DC does not, despite the inventory report, in DC confirming it has a qualifying CPU.
Patch's KB4565589 & KB4565636 not installing on Windows 7 w/ ESU's
The above two patches have failed to install on all of our Windows 7 machines that have had an ESU license applied to them. The ending result from the .NET error log is: Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation. According to Microsoft, the error code is a generic code. Anyone else having issues with these two patches?
Remove computer from Desktop Central WITHOUT removing agent
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to remove computer records from Desktop Central without it automatically uninstalling the agent when it next communicates? Basically, I want to remove all machines that haven't contacted the server in 60 days but for them to auto-repopulate if they do check in again. Withouth having the agent removed and then re-installed Is this possible?
Safe way to reboot Desktop Central Server
Hi, Could anyone give me the correct process for rebooting the Desktop Central server? I performed a standard server reboot last year which caused big issues with the DB. Support managed to resolve and said it was due to an unclean shutdown / reboot. However they failed to provide me with any info on how to avoid it happening again. Do a need to stop services in a particular order first? Is there a batch file within the Desktop Central program files? I need to reboot my server but don't want to risk
Postgres 100% CPU

Hi, I have been getting responses to application, patch and feature requests, from the DC team, stating that they can't address these requests as they "are working on a major framework change, Once it completed we will start working on the feature request for Mac"? Security Certificate Mismatch
We've added a security certificate from a Central Authority to ManageEngine Desktop Central. When we open the server, it always opens to the localhost configuration page instead of the certificate page and then we have to change the URL to the same site tied to the certificate. Is there any way to have Desktop Central recognize that it has a valid third-party CA cert and open using the correct URL?

Install agent by IP and not in domain from GUI
Hello, is there a way to install the agent using the GUI only with the IP? We have some clients that are not in the AD. So we do not always have to log on to the computer to install the agent. This was not a problem with our previous product. Best regards Michael

Manage off-domain PCs
Hi all - Since COVID has hit, we have a larger number of users working from home with IT-provided laptops. Everything was going fine but all of a sudden a lot of users are locking the local accounts and since they're at home, we have no way of helping without the users bringing the laptops back. We have the users RDP in by going through a RDP gateway; so there is no VPN involved. Is there a way to set up Desktop Central to be able to manage those laptops?

New to DC10 needs help Uninstall Cisco Email security pluging
i need to remove Cisco Email Security plugin that was previously manually installed in several computers. Some post in here and in other forums recommend doing it from Inventory\Software and using the uninstalling feature instead of creating a uninstall package. I read further more and discovered that either using regedit or powershell i should be able to find the uninstallationstring However the information i gather from it seems funky if i compare that to other who are able to get a clean string
Decline Superseded Patch
I show a windows 10 server pack needs to be installed on one machine, service pack 1709. However the machine is already patched to 1803. Since the checkbox for the patch is greyed out as it is superseded, how can i decline the patch in hopes of desktop central not incorrectly reporting that it is still needed?

DesktopCentral and MSSQL on linux
As I understand DesktopCentral migration to MSSQL needs "SQL Browser" service but unfotunately MSSQL on linux does not support it. Is there some kind of workaround to get this setup working? Why does DesktopCentral needs "SQL Browser" anyway? ServiceDesk can be set up without "SQL Browser" service.

I am trying to wrap my head around the APIs. I have successfully been able to connect and authenticate via the API but I am wondering how I would query for all unapproved windows patches via the API? I also would like to be able to query specific computers for missing patches and store the results.
DC patching not honoring "Deploy after X days from release
We use an automated patching policy whereby a subset of our computers are members of a patch management test group ("PMTG"). That group is not supposed to get those patches until they've been released for seven days. My computer is a member of that group and DC patched it 16.0.13001.20384 this morning when it was only released yesterday (see link below). Is anyone else experience the same? Desktop Central Service Account for connecting Active Directory
Does anyone know if its possible to connect Desktop Central to AD without having a domain admin account? I don't want to have to assign the service account domain admin privileges. Ideally, we can assign it specific permissions to read/enumerate user and computer accounts. I would be surprised to find out if banks or government agencies would allow a service account to have full domain admin privileges. Patch in Applied Status is Missing
Dear all, We are using Manage Engine Desktop Central to apply patches to our clients. I came across with an issue that might pose a risk in my opinion. We patch the clients and then make a cross check using Nessus Patch audit. Nessus found that, KB4484284 was missing in some clients. When I checked on Desktop Central console, it was in applied status in most of the clients. Then I tried to deploy this patch manually. I have chosen the package and tried to deploy. All deployments ended with non-applicable

Per Remote Office Dashboard and Permissions
Hi there, Desktop Central has this nifty Dashboard in it's Patch Management component and I would like to know if it is possible to have Dashboard for each Remote Office by itself. That would be super helpful to see the health of each of our supported locations at a glance. Also, is it possible to assign permissions to only a limited subset of the Remote Offices or managed devices to a technician? Example: Technician A can perform patching to location 1, 2 and 3 Technician B can perform patching

Add a Custom Dynamic Group to a configuration
Hello, I have created a configuration which's renames a file and places a new one. I also created a dynamic group with all machines containing the software regarding the renaming/replacing. Now I want to add the group to the target list but I can only add the customs static groups, the dynamic ones are not in the list. is this not possible? It is useful if the dynamic list updates itself if there are clients who also have the specific software installed. Regards, Mark
How to Block All .exe and .msi
Hi All, I want to block all .exe and .msi to run via Desktop Central. I am trying to use the option in inventory named as "block executables" but when I type "*.exe" and "*.msi" to block all msi and exe packages I get an error. Can anyone help me to block all software executable and allow only the ones I want them to use.
