Windows 10 updates - can we disable so only Desktop Central can pushes updates and restart the machine?
We have multiple windows 10 machines that are still 'updating' on their own and forcing machines to restart even with the Desktop Central Agent on the machine. Is there anyway to disable windows via the Desktop Central console or through group policy, if we have to, for machines to only receive updates from Desktop Central? Thanks Tom

When configuring software deployment with setting "Allow User to interact with the Installation/Uninstallation Window." following message is always displayed to user. Can this be prevented? We are using our own wrapper scripts to install software to computers that is displaying notifications to user and we dont want any extra popups.
Generating reports using Software Groups
Hello, When generating reports using Software Groups, is it possible to see which machines would come under that software group? For example, we have different version numbers of Office 2010 Pro Plus so I have added them into 1 software group, is there a way to see all of the machines that would come under this software group? Cant install agent. Agent has older version must be removed first
I have tried to remove an agent that was not working is no longer managed. I have delete all manage engine files and registry. But no matter what i can not re install the agent keeps saying that it is still installed.

Desktop Central <-> Service Desk Pro Integration question on Asset
Ok, so If I have an existing asset in SDP and then add it to Desktop Central, what is the common workstation field that binds Desktop Central to update it in SDP? For example, I added a new asset into SDP with ONLY the same hostname as it already appears in Desktop Central but doing a scan now on it doesnt update it. As a test I added a new system to Desktop Central, which then created the asset in SDP. It stays updated. I've removed all the info on that asset and it still stays updated from Desktop
Upgrade confusion
This morning I've received a banner notification for an upgrade to Desktop Central, downloaded it but I'm getting an error that it's not ready for my network. The other really confusing thing is I've gone to the download page on my PC and on the server and I've getting two different download pages. I'm now confused.... Change in Adobe Patch Download Policy
Hi Folks, There seems to be a change in the Adobe download policy which is in turn affecting the download of these patches in Desktop Central. What is the change? Adobe had recently changed their patch download policy by hiding the direct download links to their patches. This is applicable to Adobe Air, Flash Player, Reader and Shockwave Player applications. After installing SP 45 I can't start DC services normally. If I right-click the task tray icon and try starting the service it will spin and spin without ever starting the services. If I go into services.msc to start the services manually the task tray icon shows that DC has started but when I load DC in my browser I get the error below. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Required software?
Is it possible to set an application as "required" for a certain group of computers like you can set software as "prohibited" and then get alerts if that software is not present on a computer? For example a specific browser or an antivirus client that needs to be on a certain group or groups of computers?
Roaming Profiles
Recently I have received a number of complaints from my end users that when they log in to their computers in the mornings icons that they have deleted off of their desktop have returned. Upon investigating it seems that when the end users are shutting down their computers for the day the roaming profile synchronization process is failing with the following errors: Event 1504: Windows cannot update your roaming profile completely. My Nessus security scans says I need office patches but DC says my PC is up to date
I am doing security scans on my network PC's and servers and they are reporting that patches are not installed however desktop central says my PC is up to date and healthy. On my own PC I am seeing office updates needed in the scan but if I run a standard windows update that also says I am up to date Are there some updates that do not install automatically but are required for security? If so is there any way I can get those using desktop central? Thanks

Pastel modern theme welcome but needs more contrast The colors are very washed out and it's not as easy to navigate as the previous version. It needs richer colors and more contrast for the container lines and graph bars could be bigger.
Flash updates
Flash 24.0.0.194 was released on 1/10/2017 but a significant portion of my systems are still on the 186 release. Desktop Central is not showing any missing patches for Flash Player. I'm assuming the systems that are on 194 were self-patched by the Adobe updater process. Does Desktop Central no longer provide automatic patching for Flash player?

Can't export certain (any?) search results to PDF
I have an odd/new issue since moving to 10.0.28 (first noticed in this version). If I simply go in to Inventory for example, then click Hardware, I can hit the export button, choose PDF, then a save-as window appears as expected. Hello, i need the schedule a reboot of our Desktop Desktop central Server (which is also our Service-Desk server). It's a 2012R2 server and i think i'm going to simply make a restart.bat with the command 'shutdown -r -f -t 000'... But,before intitiating the reboot of the windows, i know that the Desktop-Central Server must be properly shutdown to avoid any Database corruption. I see some bat script in the bin directory of Desktop Central like: 'stopDesktopCentral.bat' or 'stopDB.bat' or 'shutdown.bat'.
Bar Code Scan for Assets
Hi When my colleague purchased Desktop Central last year, he was informed that bar code scanning of assets would be an imminent feature following a patch update. To date, we have not found this to be the case. Can you please advise? See below screenshot for version currently in use. Thanks. P.S. Update custom software
I know Desktop Central has the ability to push MSI installs to clients, but we were wondering if it is possible to add custom software to the list of software that gets automatic updates? The end goal is to come up with a way to push MSIs automatically without intervention. If the only way to push software is to manually run configurations by uploading the new MSI then we probably move onto another solution. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any functionally that Desktop Central offered.
Support for roaming systems / internet facing clients
What is the recommended method to support end user machines that sometimes come into the office and sometimes reside on the internet? My background comes from System Center Config Manager where it automatically determines where the system is internally based on AD site or subnet and ALSO determines if it's on the internet so it can use a a public DNS name to connect to internal servers. Specifically, how do I support systems that can frequently move between internal and external (internet) networks.
Upgrading Desktop Central from 10.0.03
My Desktop Central Build is 10.0.03. I've tried upgrading to 10.0.05 and it tells me I can't upgrade directly to 10.0.05 and I've tried upgrading to 10.0.29 and it tells me my network isn't ready(I'm assuming that it requires 10.0.05 to upgrade) Clicking here for further details brings me back to the screen I just downloaded Build 10.0.5 from.

Schedule Backup Fails
Hi All, I am getting the following message from Desktop Central when trying to back up via a UNC. Insufficient Disk Space / Access Denied. Either you do not have sufficient disk space to perform the Backup operation or you do not have write access to the backup location. Available free space [ 0 MB ], required free Drive has 389 gig free. Permissions for everyone on the folder is set to full control read and write. Desktop Central gives you a message if access is denied when saving the back up
Agent Not updated after up-grade desktop Central on version 10
We upgraded our Desktop Central on version 10. After upgrading we are not able to communicate to our remote location machines, getting error as Agent version not compatible. we are unable to communicate or upgrade agent remotely. Kindly suggest to resolved this.

Issue upgrading agent to new build (90143)
I have already logged this with support and it's in progress, but I want to get this out here in case anyone else gets a similar issue. Due to a fix in a new build I needed, I was given build 90143 to install. This was an upgrade from 90132 and upgraded fine, as it always does. However, there seemed to be an issue automatically upgrading the agent as one hour after the new build was online only 74 PCs/Servers had updated the agent to the latest build. Package Install
I am trying to install a package to a computer. The .MSI file I have is completely unattended and silent. I double click my .MSI file and it installs the program silently. Being new to Desktop Central, I cannot seem to install it. If I don't enter any properties for the MSI file, it only installs the install file, and not the program. How can I use Desktop Central to install my .MSI file, without using any properties? The .MSI file is completely hands free. Darren
Self-Service Portal not offering package to machine in custom group
Hello. I have a machine that is placed in a Dynamic Custom Group, I can verify that it is in fact in that group and persists through an inventory scan, as it should. The machine also appears under the self-service portal > (custom group) > computers tab. However the package associated with that group does not appear on the self-service portal. I have tried refreshing the portal with the green icon, killing the dcagenttrayicon.exe process and re-launching it, and restarting the machine. Any help is
DesktopCentral Server Makes Heavy Upload on Internet and Stops the Network
Hi, our main Desktop Central has a problem, when we turn it on it makes heavy upload on Internet for hours which makes our network very slow and also the server itself (it consumes all the bandwidth which is 40 MB). the problem happened after I downloaded critical Windows updates to the Server in order to deploy it on clients. anyone can help me know the problem as now we switched it off until solve the problem .. thanks.
Invalid Certificate When Patching
I have a number of updates that are failing to be installed on one computer. Each of them is a Microsoft update or rollup from between October 2016 and December 2016. They all fail with this error message: The certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found. No other computer has had this issue. Patch IDs are 21627 21847 21850 21904 21926 21928 103689 103821 What would cause these patches to fail with this message? Why have some 80 odd other very similar builds not been affected?

Self service portal (Desktop Central integration with Service Desk plus)
Hi We use both desktop central and service desk plus. Wit the new feature win DC called self service for installing applications - we were excited. We assumed that as an end user you would be able to go to your service desk plus self service page (where you can log tickets) and avail of the desktop central self service capability for installing software - this appears though not to be the case.
