patch scan problem
When trying to deploy missing patches I am receiving the message "No data available Reasons: The computer is not scanned for identifying the vulnerable patches. scan now" , even though it is displaying 180 missing patches for the pcs I am trying to deploy patches for, and the scan status has finished today successfully, when I try to scan again the page remains on scanning and is not finishing scan. I have the latest DC9 SP.
Issue with Deploy Immediately
here is as far as i can see an issue with the option Deploy Immediately. If you have all the patches downloaded and ready - e.g. like a software deployment, then option to deploy immediately to a number of boxes works fine. But if there are patches to download - and the job has to wait until the Download In progress has finished, the patches job IS NOT started straight away, the boxes in the job have to wait until either a) MANUAL service restart b) MANUAL cfgupdate run c) up to 90 minutes for refresh.
Restrict access to Desktop Central web console to internal LAN only
Hi, Is it possible to restrict access to the Desktop Central web console to internal LAN users only ? We don't have a requirement for it to be accessed outside of the internal LAN. We still need MDM to work Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can go about this ? Regards Jonathan
Push Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013
I am trying to silently push out Office Pro 2013 to remote office computers. I followed the two guides for Deploy Office 2013 and Deploy via HTTP. When I push it to a test computer, I get "Pre-installation has failed: The system cannot find the file specified." I used the OCT and followed the instructions. Attached is a screenshot of my software deployment and the contents of the 7zip file.
Setup static ODBC Data Source
Is there a way to use Desktop Central to setup an application Data Source (ODBC) driver? My application needs one on each computer it runs on and in the past I had to go to each PC and manually set it up. The drive is a simple MSSQL database source.
Desktop Central reporting wrong DNS servers
When doing as asset scan or a custom report looking for the DNS setting of machines Desktop Central is reporting old DNS addresses that are no longer in use. Checking these machines they have either static or dynamic addresses and using ipconfig /all on either they report the correct DNS servers. Where would Desktop Central be finding the old addresses? What needs to be done to correct this issue?
Active X remote control not working after upgrade to 90087
I upgraded to 90087 over last weekend. Remote control with Active X was working before this update. Now it is not. You can connect to computers but the desktop never shows up. If you click on Show Desktop it does not show up either. All active x settings are the same as before. It does work with java. Thanks Mike

Reason to connect - turn off
Hello! Since upgrade to 90067 we are required to enter a reason for connecting to remote computer. As it is annoying, and those reasons are not important for us, it would be awesome if we could turn it off, so far I was unable to locate that option in DC. Can you give us option to turn it off? IE 10 Not Installing
When trying to deploy IE 10 via computer, the package gets sent and the user gets notified as designed. They click install and the client shows it is installing but eventually times out. When I look at the user machine, the installation .exe shows up in the task manager, but the CPU is 0 and the memory is at 1500K and does not move. The task eventually times out. Please build in installed application detection
Currently if you modify an existing software deployment, DC will attempt to reinstall software that is has already installed previously. This forces one to create another group or targeting so this doesn't happen. Support has told me the best way to detect if an application has been installed is to implement a pre-install script which is OK but it would be better if some kind of facility could be built in to check for some common conditions such as the existence of a file, existence of a registry
Harvest station IP when submitting to help desk
We are using desktop central in conjunction with Service Desk Plus. Is there a way to make the Desktop central agent automatically include the pc's ip or station name when submitting a ticket to the service desk?

DesktopCentral agent install on Windows 2000 Professional
Hello together, when trying to install the DC agent on a Windows 2000 Professional client via web UI there's a timeout error. When using the MSI packet on the client the installation is broken because of an interrupt: "The installer was interrupted before..." I know, Windows 2000 is very old but it's still supported by DC. So why I can't install the agent on this client? I don't have an Active Directory Environment. Thank You TheExpert
DC Build 90087 apache version
Hello, The newest DC build 90087 release notes stated that "Apache used in Desktop Central has been upgraded to version 2.4.10" But, I just checked using curl -i and it says it's still running Apache version 2.4.9. Was the upgrade to 2.4.10 held back?? Thanks!!
Desktop Central Custom Fields for SOM/Desktop Management

Hi, I would really like to have more details on the individual executions statuses. The individual computers are either yet to apply, retry, failed, or successful. There is "in progress" for the config as a whole, but not on which computers are in progress. I have some configs that copy an entire folder to the computer. After looking at the logs of the target computers, many that are "yet to apply" have received the configuration and are in progress. It would be very helpful if they said for instance:

Use DFS as a Patch repository
Hi, We are in the process of deploying Desktop Central and we ran into a bit of an issue. We are using DFS replication for the Software and Patch repository. We have started replicating the DFS now to 2 of our sites for testing and we noticed that the patches are not being pulled from the DFS share by the agent but is getting it directly from the Desktop Central Server. When connected to remote PCs using Desktop Central, I get an error message that states that "The connection to website is untrusted." How can I get this certificate distributed to all my machines so that this error goes away?
Block jailbroken and rooted phones
I saw an option to block jailbroken phones. How do we block rooted phones with MDM in desktop central? What happens to the device if they violate a policy setting? Does it go out of compliance and remote wipe, etc? Are there settings for that?

Hi, I was trying to look at the Configurations reports for a deployment done while back, however it seems to only show Configurations that are not deleted. Have a habit deleting Configurations when they are done. Is DC storing these Configurations in a log after they are deleted?

Is it possible to approve the patches etc from the Desktop Central Server but have the client actually download them from the Vendors website?
Warranty Soon to Expire - Add 6 months and 1 year timeframes
For the "Warranty Soon to Expire" report, could you add 6 months and 1 year timeframes? The longest timeframe currently available is 2 months. We need to budget for machine replacement 6 months to a year in advance. I currently use "Warranty Expires Within --All--", but additional timeframe filters would be helpful.

User prompted to "Click to skip reboot" but no button is present
After patches are installed using automated patch management, the user is given a countdown clock until restart. They are told that they have the option to "Click to skip reboot", but there is only a "Reboot Now" button. Users need a skip or delay reboot option, similar to Windows Updates, so they are not interrupted if they are working during the patch update window.

I just realized recently that my Inventory\Software list is not updating properly. I have several clients that are registering older software even though they are running the latest version. Is there a way to correct this? Is this a DB issue? Should I try reinstalling the clients on those PCs?
