Hello, When patches are deployed, are they being pushed to the servers/workstations, thus, filling up valuable space ? If so, where do change the settings so these patches are deleted once installed ? Thanks, - Harry
Prevent removal of agent
How do we "prevent" users from removing the Desktop Central client? I know how to remove the Uninstall option in Programs and Features but that doesn't prevent them from uninstalling it through other methods.

Third Party Patches - need to be able to select which of these patches impact System Health stats
the inclusion of TP patches in the calculation of System Health status is not working as my team would prefer. We want to automatically apply patches (approval) and we want to specify which TP patches are included in the calculation of PC Health. The recent inclusion of CCleaner is an example. We do not need PCs that are missing that patch to be reported as "vulnerable". Instead, if they were "healthy", we desire them to remain healthy for our tracking purposes. Request Helpdesk Feature
I have installed Desktop Central MSP and Service Desk Plus MSP on premise. When users try to use the "Send Request to Helpdesk" feature it responds with an error message stating it cannot send. I have setup the API connection and have a green light on all settings in both admin sections and I have enabled the helpdesk feature in Desktop Central. I performed a google search and found hardly nothing on the issue. Can anyone help?

Unmanaged Computer Objects - Need Unmanaged Group w/No charge against license total
Hi, I've had to create complex AD synchronization rules to avoid DTC from picking up "name-only computer objects", which represent NAS storage devices, cluster-name objects, instance name objects. It's undesirable to uncheck so many OU's, as that can lead to synchronization problems. So how do you recommend dealing with these objects in order to prevent us from finding our "managed computer" license being reduced by these objects, which we do not, cannot, manage with DTCentral? How do i confirm that a Win Service Pack is downloaded?
Sorry for the beginner question but I am just getting into this software. I have a job scheduled to install a Service Pack at a scheduled time in the future. When setting up my configuration I selected the flag to download the SP prior to the deployment time. However all the information on the deployment task shows pending until deployment time. How can I verify that the pre deployment task of downloading the SP by the host has been completed? Under download details under details of my deployment

Initiate installing Patches from Client
Hi I have an APD task that scans, downloads and drafts the patches to be rolled out on some critical servers. Rather than click on deploy within DTC is there a way of initiating the install from the client, so I can do one server at a time similar to WSUS? I know I can create jobs within DTC and push but I want to be able to pull approved patches to a custom group of servers. Thanks Andy

Hi, I am facing a problem in Desktop central that while taking remote an error message is coming that " Waiting for the presenter to join". This error is not coming always. When attempting to remotely connect to a MAC I am seeing the following. On my Computer A message box immediately pops up on the mac More Info takes me to the java download page, OK simply closes the message window. A current version of Java is already installed and up to date on the mac as can be seen with the response from the Oracle java test page. Hi, Reading through the release notes that came with the latest update, I can see the following information :- Desktop Central Agent generation has been enhanced to prevent from being reported as "unsafe" by anti-virus during installation/ upgradation. Can you provide any more information in regards to what it was being reported as and with what anti-virus. I'm interested to know how it was identified and what it was being reported as. Thanks
Default Chat box content
We are having a problem with chat where the End Users are closing the popup chat box before we can get a chance to type anything. Why in the world we are having a tough time getting users to NOT do this is frustrating, but the common theme is that they see this blank box (they are ignoring the name in the window header). Is there a way to add a custom statement as a default push, by default, so that the client's chat box shows it once it pops up giving them a bit more information? Probably a feature
Remote Control - log the reason for remote connection
We have this option turned on but I can not find anywhere that we can see the reasons we have entered. It is not a column on the history tab in remote control. I do not see any reports for remote control. So where is it logging this and how can we see it? Thanks Mike

Issue with Software Inventory
Hello, We have been uninstalled some softwares in some PCs through desktop central, but desktop central shows the softwares are still installed, I already run the scan many times, but the softwares still exist. This give us issue to get accurate information about softwares installed in our PCs. For example, desktop central shows that there are 2 versions of Adobe Flash Player installed in some PCs, but we checked directly that PCs, only 1 version is installed. Can somebody help me to solve this issue?

New Skype Update not showing up in Desktop Central
It looks like there's a new skype release that has been out since the beginning of the month, version 7.2.32.103. The patch management database in Desktop Central is still on 7.2.0.103. When will it be updated? Thanks Sam

Automate Patch Deployment doesn't wake up PCs
I have an automate patch deployment task which uses this deployment policy: http://screencast.com/t/SUszXEHIVhr As you can see, this task should wake up the PCs. But it doesn't. We can wake up the PCs manually from MEDC, so this is not the issue. Do we have a configuration problem? (we are still evaluating, so bear with us).

Trying to deploy a file/folder operation configuration
Hello, I just upgraded from build 90066 to 90135 yesterday. I am trying to deploy a new File/Folder Operation Configuration by computer as I've always done and am now getting a prompt for a password with my user name showing. I entered it and nothing seems to be happening. What's going on here? Is there a new setting that I am unaware of in build 90135 or is this a bug? Thanks, Eric

Remote site agent install
Hi Is it possible to push out the DC9 agent to a remote site without user intervention? We have a number of sites that we don't have remote control access to the pc's (Win7Pro). Sites are small (<5 machines and in workgroup mode) , users do not have local admin rights. IP addresses are known so is a local admin account password. Vulnerability DB not getting Windows Patches - No Errors
I setup a new server to help speed up patching on reinstalls of windows, and to add some custom settings to refurbished PCs. I then restored another server onto this install (it already had the custom settings I wanted), deleted all clients and remote sites not needed. I started using this server for all new rerolls to save on bandwidth and DL times for each PC to DL the same 180 patches. but the Vulnerability check keeps coming back with 0 patches missing. Windows 7 Stopping Services
Hi, Since deploying the desktop central agent across our desktops we have noticed that our Windows 7 machines now take forever to shutdown because they say "Stopping Services". This doesn't happen on Windows 8 machines or Windows 7 machines that don't have the agent. When the agent is removed, shutdown time is normal. Please advise and assist. Regards

DC MSP - change server ip address
