Agent Re-installation Error Message
I have a machine that had the Desktop Central Agent installed. The machine was moved to a different physical location. I was unable to remote to the machine so I did an uninstall of the agent. Now when I try to install the agent I get message - "This advertised application will not be installed because it might be unsafe. Contact your administrator to change the installation user interface option of the package to basic." Has anyone encountered this problem and know a fix? The machine is a Windows
prevent dcmsghandler.exe from taking focus?
Hi, One of my windows 7 pcs on the network is used as a media player to display promotional material but dcmsghandler.exe regularly steals focus which causes the media play to minimise and the desktop to be displayed. I've tried to run the media player in "fake" full screen (windowed mode without toolbar etc) and enabled the "stay on top" setting but it still minimises about 3x per hour. How can I prevent dcmsghandler.exe from doing this please? Paul
Best process for mass moves or mass deletes
So we are considering adding some remote offices organizational reasons and also have a weekly task of decomission of old servers. Mass adds are pretty straight forward but what is the best process for mass deletes or selecting devices to mass migrate to the new Remote Offices? The only way i can see now is find the device check the box and either hit move or remove system.

Will ManageEngine ever create a Windows application to manage all devices? I came from a LANDesk environment where they relied on using a dedicated application for the management and service desk portions. They also let you create tickets using a web interface. While ManageEngine is strictly web applications, is there any future development in the works for dedicated applications as another option? Desktop Central report not returning proper data and scheduling
Hello, we have a report that should run every Saturday for Recently Installed Software at 02:00. It runs, but does not include data for the whole week, just that day that the report ran. It used to run for the entire week, so something changed a couple of months ago, just don’t’ know what. I am trying to figure out how to create a report to identify hosts that are missing a certain application or running service. I can create a report to show services or applications not like X. however that shows every service on every box and creates a huge report. All i want is a machine name missing a certain application or running service. I know i can run a report to find what boxes is running X then run a report on all boxes and compare via excel but I was looking for a way to just do it in

I am using the software deployment feature of desktop central 9 to deploy a software MSI package. The software itself installs without issue through Desktop Central but I have a script set to run in my post deployment activity that is not working as intended. The script is supposed to launch the program after it has been installed. If I run the script from the local computer or even the network share myself it opens the program as intended but when it is executed through Desktop Central it does not.

More than one repository
Hello, I am fairly new to Desktop Central. I have 2 domains and the agents are properly talking to them. I currently have a software repository working on one domain. I would like a separate one for the other. I see the option to pick the path but it doesn't seem like I can pick more than one. Could anyone guide me through the correct steps? Thanks
Automated Deployment configuration reporting 'not scanned'
Hi, I've been using the automated deployment for some time now and its been working, for the most part, okay. That is until recently when the patch database lost sync with manage engine (our ISP blocked our NTP server for reasons known only to them... which through our server times out of whack). After fixing that issue, I went back to leaving our automated deployment to run but I soon found that when I added new machines to the deployment configuration, they where being ignored so I deleted that

SoM - add computers - nothing happens
This has been present for at least a couple of patch versions. In the Scope of Management screen, if I click Add Computers, I see my domains. If i click Select Computers beside my domain nothing happens when usually there's a pop-up with a list of computers available. Due to this I can't remotely add the client to any machines. I've tried it in Firefox 39.0.3 and IE 11. I've cleared cache, nothing, pop-up blockers are off.
Desktop Central MDM access path
Hello, We are actually testing the MDM integrated with DesktopCentral. Could we know what are the access path used by an IOS device to communicate with the Desktop Central MDM? The idea is to restrict (by whitelisting or by blacklisting) the remote access on the Desktop Central server (which is accessed by reverse-proxy), so nobody can access the administration of DesktopCentral and so the mobile users can still fully use MDM. RADIUS for SD+ or Desktop Central?
Do you support RADIUS for 2 factor (RSA) authentication to either of these systems? Google didn't help much on this topic (I fear that it's because there's no support for it). I am most interested in it for Desktop Central, because it carries the ability to manipulate various systems on the network and a compromised technician's account could be extremely problematic.
Forcing a re-attempt
Hi, I posted last week about trying to work out why my patches were not deploying, and had some amazing help which has since enabled me to progress with my testing. I now face another little issue, I have had a look through the Admin Guide and cannot see what I'm looking for (unless I've been really blind). Desktop Central Server applied in DMZ
Hi Community, my environment forces me to deploy Desktop Central Server inside DMZ. We also have a Workgroup and Windows 7 Home Premium Clients. Unable to deploy critical patches
I have a VM set up to allow unapproved patches to be pushed out to it to test before deploying to the rest of the machines. The issue I'm currently having is all patches I push out to the virtual machine come back as Not Applicable. I thought the cause could be that I didn't have Internet Explorer 11 installed (It only have IE 8) and one of the patches was for IE 11, so I installed Internet Explorer 11 and then re-deployed the patch and still failed. java.exe*32 service take 100% cpu
I have Desktop Central MSP Build 80295 installed on a Windows 2008 STD SP1 server on VMware. Now when I start the ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP service the java.exe*32 service take 100% cpu. The application runs for around 10 min then it stops. Any ideas as to why ?

I am receiving an error "Desktop Central server should have access to reach the following domains to download patch related files in the following formats: .7z, .zip, .exe, .msi etc ." The software the error is referring to is CDBurnerXP. . However, this software is not installed on any workstation or server. It is not listed in the software inventory. Auto Patch Deployment
Hi I created an Auto Patch Deployment config to scan, download and deploy. But found that when the agent was installed on a new build , it would immediately start deploying patches and not just at the defined schedule time (DC Default Policy maybe ?) , which was not ideal when you are doing other setup\config work on the machine. So I modified the config to just scan. But have found that patches are still being deployed to newly installed machines immediately after the agent is installed. Is it best
Desired - Patch Approval Status "By Application"
Currently we have configured all updates as "approved", and only today I have added my first "declined" patches, for the Application "SharePoint". This seemed to be the only option available, whereas what I would like to do, is automatically approve all Microsoft application, "Except" SharePoint, leaving those as "manually approve" only.
