10649 Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB3172545) 64-Bit Edition Patch file being named with .cab instead of .msu
I was trying to deploy patch 10649 when I saw it failed with error %1 is not a valid Win32 application. When I look the patch name it is showing as csi-x-none_266122420989b7d28859d7227d5358f3b7d49af1.cab. Is there an issue with this patch? I attached a screen shot of the patch details.

Self Service Portal Disallow some users
Hello, I need to disallow all my district's students from accessing the self service portal. Is there some way I can do this? Possible hide the shortcut from all users in the Active Directory students group? Or only deploy the desktop shortcut to users that are not students? Thank you in advance for your help.
Desktop Central continues to offer wrong patches for Windows 10 versions
I am in the process of patching our Windows 10 boxes for the July patch cycle. ALL Windows machines are running the Anniversary Update (v1607) here - yet DS continues to think that we need a v 1507 patch. What is the issue with Desktop Central not knowing what version of Windows it is targeting? I have a half dozen machines here that always need this hand holding - I would have thought the system would have figured out to correctly identify a Windows client OS version number by now. Any ideas? Bruce

Has anyone any real experience using the USB auditing report in Desktop Central? Is there any way to make the reports more user friendly so I can email them straight to the users who need them?
User Administration - Member Server access
I'm looking to segregate workstations & member servers within the console. I would like our Help Desk to install/uninstall software from workstations but not member servers. Or limit the restart/shutdown function or any other tools to workstations only. Can I achieve this now or is it on the road map?

Hi Have for some time problems to install new patches on my desktop central server. Have over 2 years no problems with version 9. Switching to version was a problem because the database migration was not possible. At some point, I decided to reinstall the server completely. Fortunately, is only a small network. Freezing Windows 10 PC when remoting in
Hello all, I am having an issue that happens to about 30% of the windows 10 PCs in my environment. When trying to remote access them from desktop central, I can work for about 5 seconds and then the user's PC will completely freeze and have to be power cycled. This only happens to Windows 10 PCs and only some of them. Is anyone else experiencing this or able to provide some information on how I can prevent this from happening? Thanks

Remote Control on Terminal Server Cluster
I can't seem to populate any users on the servers that are in my terminal server cluster. It will allow me to use the chat function, but cannot remote control the sessions. The only users that are populated are on the connection broker server (sr0dxets10). I would really like to use this product, but this would be it's main function for my Helpdesk.

Remote Registry take to long to open
I have been trying out the new remote registry feature and found it to be hit and miss. Sometimes when I manage a pc and open the registry it will open right away. Other times it will keep loading and eventually time out. Then I will have to try again. This is a nice feature but it does not seem to be working correct is this a known issue or is there some reason it takes long time to connect to the registry?

Hello, We have recently started using Desktop Central to patch all of our computers and servers. We currently the notification set up for certain users based on the groups we have created, that is fine. What we have found is the staff in the company would like a reminder email one to two hours before it happens, this is just for the critical servers that we have to restart (fileserver, exchange etc) when patching takes place, At the moment this warning email is being sent manually to the company

Hi, Is it possible to block receiving updates for a third party product? We would need to stop receiving updates for Citrix receiver because newer versions will not work under our current environment and therefore we would like to prevent receiving these updates who could be approved by mistake.

Hide the Desktop Agent for certain machines
Hi There, I know you can hide the agent tray icon for all machines. Is there anyway to hide the agent for only certain machines? We have terminal/Citrix servers where we don't want the users to see the tray icon. If not, are there any plans in the roadmap for development? Kind Regards, James.

Desktop Central server updater won't run - black command window flashes quickly
Currently running DC version 10.0.93 on virtualized VMWare server running Windows 2012R2. Have been routinely applying update patches thru use of the UpdateManager in the bin folder. Went to do the latest update and nothing happens when I run UpdateManager, either by double clicking or by right clicking and "Run as Administrator" or by opening a command box and typing in UpdateManager. If I run it by double clicking or right-click-RunAsAdministstrator then I get a quick flash of the command window

Local users on Windows Servers based on the accounts in User Management
Hi, We're managing a lot of workgroup based servers (Windows OS) which don't have a central authentication solution like Active Directory. What I'm trying to find out if Desktop Central is a solution for this. I read the feature pages and noticed that Desktop Central can manage local accounts on each individual server (or as a group of servers). Correct me if I'm wrong, but.. when a user will change his/her password on one of the servers, it will not change on the other servers.. So is it perhaps
Patch windows spanning multiple calendar days
maybe i am mistaken but i was under the impression that i could patch across multiple days. example: Patch window = Starting Wed night at 10PM and Ending Thur morning at 2AM. This is a window of 4 hours. What I was previously advised to do in order configure this is below. Now i have not used this configuration in some time however we recently tried to use it again and what we experienced was that in practice this opened up a window from Wed Night at 10PM to a Thursday Morning at 2 AM and then
User Administration
When creating new users for administration they are unable to log in. Authentication type is domain but for some reason newly created users are showing up with authentication type DOMAIN vs. domain. Not sure that has any bearing on authentication or not. All other domain users can authenticate just fine. See attached.

Right now Announcements Filtering are limited to Remote Office, Domain, User Custom Group, Individual Users.. It would be great if you could setup announcement based on AD OU's, Dynamic IP Groups, Dynamic PC Groups or any other filter scenarios that are already in the PATCH Management or any filter that can be created in DC already.. Currently Announcements is great tool but very limited capabilities.. In our current test case we use it to announce to users that patch deployment is happening (example)

Feature Request Discussion: Distributed Server Repository Download
Would love to see possible feature to allow DServer to acquire needed patches from internet instead from Master Server. Most of remote offices have fatter pipe to internet than between offices.. Not sure if this is already the case but there is no documentation about it except the bandwidth settings between sites and replication schedule.

I use Manage Engine Desktop Central on my company, how can I prevent users from installing any new software on their machines except the domain admins ?
Archive a machine
I'd like to see the ability to archive a machines information in desktop central. As an example we have numerous machines that have had DC installed on them at some point but may not be not in use currently, in storage, etc. I'd love the ability to tell DC to archive this machine. I could then uninstall the agent, the machine's data/history would still be searchable in DC by its service tag, but would no longer be listed in patch scans or any other views. Except maybe the SOM View but even there
Computers being deleted the next day after joining DC
Hi, We are having a problem DC (Build Version:10.0.91) where computers are being deleted once the client has been installed on the machine. So when we build a computer we get this message in our admin mailbox. As you can see from this email the machine was built on the 27/06/2017 at 3:23 and as part of the build process the DC agent gets deployed. The next day we get this message in our admin email account. This is only deleting the computer from DC as the computer object in AD is still there. So
Remote Site Agent get Uninstalled by USBConfigurationAction
Hi all, As of a few days ago my remote site Agent installed on several PC and Server is getting automatically uninstalled, this is only happening on one remote site of 3. This remote site is not part of the same domain the desktop Central server is located on.
