23662 MS18-JAN5 Prerequisite Handler for Meltdown and Spectre wont download
When my server tried to patch id 23655 it wants to download the prerequisite file. 23662 patch id. Out server keeps failing to download this patch. 1 >> Downloading patch MeltdownSpectrePreReqx64.exe . Please wait... 2 >> MeltdownSpectrePreReqx64.exePatch status : Download blocked by firewall/antivirus.Enable firewall configuration or exclude antivirus to allow downloads from http://patchdb.manageengine.com. Then central server does not have an antivirus running and we added http://patchdb.manageengine.com.
Installing MSI file on computer only works as Command prompt 'run admin' or through GUI
Im having difficulty deploying software. Ive desktop central, i have created a package and uploaded the file. msiexec /i "Program.msi" /qn /log c:\swsetup\program-Inst.log It never installs because it seems to bypass UAC that only being admin mode can work. MSI Application wont install properly
hey community, new to packaging and new to manage engine desktop central. I have a MSI file which when executed in command prompt (admin mode) with the quiet commands installs successfully or with the front end GUI run as admin it will work great. msiexec /i package /qn /log blalba.txt When deployed via MEDC, it looks like it installs correctly. How do I restart APN creation
I'm using Desktop Central MSP and have just begun to explore the MDM feature set. I started the 3 step process of creating and Apple APN but, am stuck. After completing the first step, the one in which I enter my company name and email address, I moved on to the second step. At that point I realized that I had typed the email address incorrectly in step 1. Unfortunately, I can find no way to go back from step 2 to step 1 to fix the mistake. What next?

Let user decide when to install patch/update
Is it possible to let the user decide when to install a patch/update? It would be great if the user could decide "Install this update in 5 hours" or "at 16:00h" (when he leaves the office). Is that somehow possible? I do not want the patches to disturb the users during daily work. However, waking up the computers via WakeOnLan during the night is not an option for certain devices.
Desktop Central MSP + ZenDesk Integration
I just sat through a Webinar regarding how Desktop Central Integrates with ZenDesk, and setup a trial of Desktop Central MSP, setup a Virtual Machine in the Cloud, installed and configured the software firewalls, SSL encryption, then go to do the final step of the ZenDesk integration only to get a warning message that the MSP version isn't compatible. I'm sure I probably missed it somewhere in System Requirements. Are there any plans to bring the Zendesk integration to the MSP version of Desktop

How can I do to use DesktopCentral to replace a .txt file from the network. the file tha I want to replace is within the local server folder used as a repository. all computers in our network has a file called TOPO_CONFIG.txt at c:\Program Files (x86)\RBS\TopO BTP Now, I have to change the file for another one .... how can I do that ?

Why have a support phone number if you never answer it? Why do I know more about the product than your online chat support techs?
In all the time I've been a customer I've NEVER been able to reach anyone for phone support. Every time I call I get a voicemail. Not the kind of support for software that my School District is spending in excess of $60,000 per year for. While you software is great, your phone support is non existent. I always end up having to use the online chat support, and when I ask a question I always get Vinoth Kumar who always spends 15-20 minutes (and sometimes days) trying to find the answer to my question.
No missing patches, but prompting for reboot
I have been noticing the last couple of weeks that DC is requiring reboots even though the computers show zero needed patches. Any ideas why?

It’s difficult to determine when an update is available for Desktop Central. The last notice we received wasn’t for the version we have. Another time I was sent over to the main update page (https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/service-packs.html) and the version we have (10.0.177) isn’t even listed. So, I’m not sure where to go and look when there is an update for the version we have. Can you help iron out this mystery?

If I have the Windows C++ Redistributable as an application in Desktop Central can I use it as a pre-req for installing a software package. From what I'm reading it looks like I can use a pre-install script to install it. But I havent found any references or examples of it being used.

Do you have to create a remote office for this and use the wan agent? if it is the same fqdn why won't the LAN agent work? During the deployment I set up server's public IP address in order to achieve communication. But that IP is dynamic and as a result, it constantly changes. Firefox 58.0 - Wrong patch is deployed!
Just a heads-up, there seems to be an issue with the latest Firefox patches (patch ID 307006 and 307008). The 32-bit update points to the 64-bit location path and vice versa. So if you deploy/approve these patches, you will very likely end up with a mess. Searching for specific computers is a constant task within DC. Now everytime I have to click to get a new page, change fromt articles to computers and then type the name. Am I doing something wrong? This way is not the way to everyday use. Thanks, Juergen

1703 update with Bitlocker enabled
I have been able to successfully get the package to install on a machine that is not bitlocker enabled but as soon as I attempt to run the package the installer says "Windows Setup cannot find a location to store temporary installation files. Make sure BitLocker Drive Encryption is suspended." I found the powershell command "Suspend-Bitlocker" but I have no idea how to run that command before the install starts through Desktop Central. I attempted to create a custom script but it also failed.
Windows 10 Fall Creators update (1709) undeployable because of dependencies
I followed the instructions: https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/windows10-feature-packs.html#language I renamed the iso to the german name: 104980-Win10_1709_Gex64.iso And I placed it into the patch store of desktop central. When deploying the patch/upgrade it fails to start because of missing dependencies (Win10_1709_enx64.iso). It does not "detect" the german iso file I have placed in patch store as descibed in you instruction....

Mac OS patch (601384) gets the machine rebooted without notification
The patch crawler team has found that upon patching Mac sierra machines, it is getting rebooted arbitrarily even when "No Reboot" deployment policy is selected. From analyze, the team has confirmed patch 601384 naturally invokes the reboot action without notifying the customer. It seems it is the behavior of this update upon reading various 3rd party forums.
