agent not auto updating
I have a few servers in a remote office that will would not update the agent. Is there a way to reinstall the latest agent form the machine? I can not manage the servers from the web console because it show as if the computers are offline, so i can not remotely uninstall the agent. When I try to push the new agent it tells me that it first needs to be uninstalled which I can find how to do. I have tried running the install script but it does not work.
Uninstall Microsoft Project & Visio Silently?
So this would assume to be super simple.. Silently Uninstall Visio Pro/Premium & Project Professional 2010. Until i try to do it from Desktop Central. The standard Uninstall button doesn't work. Copying scripts below and deploying them doesn't work. Script that everyone on the internet says works.. Which works Manually ran but not from Desktop Central via .bat. USB policy with desktop central
Hello everyone, I am new in the products of ManageEngine and I am learning now, but I was searching for an option to block USB with Desktop Central. I saw in the configurations tab-> configuration->secure usb the possibility. But it doesn't look at my requirements. Oké, it blocks USB to my computer park, but what if there are new computers? Do I need to redeploy the configuration? Also, if I want to exclude devices and we want one more excluded device, is there an option that it will apply to all
Strange differance between free and enterprise
Hi, We have Desktop Central Enterprise edition in the office and I have the Freeware edition installed at home for my home network and I've noticed that on the freeware version when deploying a configuration I'm able to select computer from targets form the go but on the Enterprise edition I have to select a remote office, then a computer which could lead to something being deployed to the whole domain. Patch Mgmt - Mozy Unable to Reach the Domain
I've been getting a warning on my Patch Mgmt tab indicating "Desktop Central server does not have access to reach some domains to download patch related files in the following formats: .7z, .zip, .exe, .msi etc ". Checking the details shows 3 URL's for Mozy backup (not used) that are failing. Is everyone else having the same issue?
patch scan discrepancy
Hello, I have few systems which I tried to scan with DC and it comes with very few (5) MS Office updates, and NO OS updates, but when I ran Windows update, it came up with 37 OS updates. Its been happening with other systems as well. I already uploaded the logs!! Please advise! thanks, Zahid
Last boot time (Where does it get this from)
Hey all, Long time listener, first time caller (poster). I have a client that runs this software, that I have full access to and they repeatedly ask me questions that I cannot answer. Haha! The client is reporting incorrect boot times and dates in ManageEngine Desktop, I can confirm they are the incorrect dates, so I was wondering where this information is pulled from? Is it pulled from the machines system time? If so, this might explain why it is incorrect. Any insight would be very much appreciated.
Where do Draft Tasks Appear?
I have an automatic patch group called "Servers Manual Update". My intention is to have all systems in this group to scan, download, and then wait until I take an action to start installing patches. I have some test machines in this group now, and it looks like everything worked as scheduled. I clicked on the link to start deployment expecting to select which machines to deploy, but instead it just said the deployment has been initiated. Latest released patches notification (Think Mitre CVE)
Is there an easy way in patch management to see what the latest released patches are? I know I can go into the patches and sort by date but having something similar to the Mitre CVE website or Adobe's critical update notification would be helpful to keep it all in one place. Is there a report that can be run perhaps to let you know of the latest patches that were added to the database? Thanks.
SQL Server and Desktop Central - Backups and Patching
We have Desktop Central configured to use a SQL database. The DTC server and SQL are on separate servers. How should patches be applied to the SQL server since the result will be the SQL server getting rebooted and DTC will lose connection. The same is true for patching the DTC server itself... What will happen if the DTC server gets updated and reboots while other clients are installing patches? I'd like to hear how you all are handling it in your environment. Migrate DC build 91085 from 32-bit to 64-bit
Have a business need to migrate our DC instance from an old 32-bit server (Win 2k3) to 64-bit server (Win 2k8 R2 or higher). The documentation I found (https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/desktop-central-server-migration-how-to.html?dci) says to NOT migrate from 32 to 64. Is this still the case? Isn't there anything I can do to migrate the data over/restore the database on a new server? Thank you, Spence Lome

Deploy DS to non-default installation path
Hello, We are just getting stared implementing DTC in our environment and I have a question about setting up a DS. From the help I can see at a certain point you download a zip file which you extract and run the setup.bat on the DS machine to install it. Can you select where to install DS on a server (i.e. we have foreseen a separate partition - F: - for this purpose)? I don't want it (and the patch/software repository) to deploy to the default C:\ path. Thank you for your feedback. Steve
Deployment timing
Probably a silly question but i just want to make sure my thinking is correct. In my deployment config below i have the patch job set to deploy at midnight on Sat and end at 5:59AM. My DTC server is EST. My Client Machine is PST. This is a three hour difference between them. So assuming the box checks in at 12:01 EST (9:01 PST). That means it wont actually start deploying its package until 3:01 EST (12:01 Local PST), since its West coast. This means that It would continue to deploy until 8:59
Technician administraton
We were going to add some new users to our DTC environment but wanted to limit their access. My intention was to be able to create them jobs they could push out. However it seems that the write feature gives them full access to any one area and read does not allow them to execute anything in any given area. Is there any middle ground where a user is given rights to execute but not create jobs created by an administrator?

I have TFA using Google Authenticator app on iOS with Desktop Central and was successfully using it. I had to changed devices and need to regenerate the bar code that I originally scanned to set this up. How can I get this added back to Google Authenticator?

Reports for Windows 7 - user information
hi Team, I'm trying to find the users for windows 7 workstation. I was able to pull the "Currently logged in user" However the fields "Last Logon User" and "Computer Owner" were blank. Any idea why these fields are blank?
Domain is blank for Opera Mac Patches
Yesterday, DTC started reporting that it could not reach all domains for patch downloads. The connection test shows only 1 domain failing for Opera Mac patches, and the domain is blank. See attached screenshot.

Desktop Central reporting incorrect OS
I have noticed a few machines are reporting back saying they have Windows Vista, or Windows XP when they actually have Windows 7. Do I need to do something in order to correct this, as scanning the inventory on the machine doesn't update it.
I want to Find Computer Name User is Logged Onto and locked out there
Actually some users complaining that their users ID always get locked out due to our police of three times incorrect password the user will locked out, but the user does not know on which computer someone is trying to logon by his user , so please can you assist me how to get the computers names on which the users is failed to logon and caused it to lock out.
some patches marked as not approved
I have the patch database set to automatically approve patches but I noticed today that a bunch of patches from March 8 were marked not approved. Is there a reason why half the patches this month got marked not approved? Most the patches not approved are Microsoft office but some windows 8 and windows 10 patches are getting flagged not approved. See my screenshot for example.
Computer Hardware report
Is there a report to list what hardware the computers have? I want to run a report to see all the desktop monitors on computer in a certain remote office. I found how to just see all monitor in a remote office but it does not list the computer name I want to see that report but with what computer has what monitor. Is there a such a report?
Disk Space on new devices
I've noticed an issue with newly built devices, not sure if it's effecting all devices at the ,moment. The inventory is showing new devices that they have no free disk space on the main inventory summery. Within hardware it's correct, the issue with also showing the same issue on reports. reset software inventory and rescan computer
I have uninstalled some software that had different versions installed. Upon removal the software inventory still shows the older version even though it is removed. Is there a way to reset the software inventory and rescan the computer? I can remove the agent and reinstall to update and correct the inventory. That seems too cumbersome. Perhaps editing the database?

Dears, we have DC Build No: 92002 can we jump upgrade to 92035 or we should upgrade from 9002 to 92021 then 92022 then 92023 92024/25/26/34/35 and if we jump from 92002 to 92035, all Features between exist build and latest one will receive and apply the new Features and hotfix . thank you
