DC Agent Issues with Panasonic Tablets and Dock
We are having consistent issues after deploying the Desktop Central agent to some of our machines. We support public safety officials that use Panasonic FZ-G1 (mk1) ruggedized tablet devices. These users have docks in their vehicles and on their desks. When docking or undocking the tablet they are losing keyboard input. Restarting the machine resolves the issue, but we cannot accept this as a workaround. We have verified that removing the DC agent resolves the issue permanently as well. All
DC service pack download site says 92003 still points at build 92002
Hi, I downloaded and installed the latest service pack last week for DC which was build 92002, but yesterday I see the page https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/service-packs.html shows build 92003. However the links all appear to still point at 92002, the download file is the same as before (the Updater refuses to accept as well), and the read-me link only shows changes up to 92002. What is going on? I've had some strange things happen with 92002, such as all my Windows agents tray

Make a Configuration run continuously?
Hi, I have set up a configuration but it doesnt seem to run the way it should. Here is what I did. I went to Admin \ Custom group \ Create New \ "Dynamic" The I selected "Software name" - "not equal" - "7-Zip 15.14 (x64 edition)" So now I have a dynamic group set with all pc's that dont have 7zip. I checked and this does update itself. Then I create a configuration, then I select "Apply to Specific Target" and pick "Dynamic custom group" and pick my 7zip group I made above. Is there a way to do multiple file copies in a collection?
I have a process that requires two different file copies to two different file locations in one collection, but a collection only lets you set one destination for a file or group of files. So I'm looking to find out...is there a way to do two different sets of file copies in one collection? Since you're just checking a box, I'm guessing not.
Pop-Up window or Task Manager Notification for expired windows password?
We have some policies in play that normally block the expired password message for our domain users. Is there a way Desktop Central can display a notification to the end user telling them their password will expire in 'X' amount of days? If not can a Auto e-mail be sent? Thanks, Josh
Version Downloads
I just downloaded and installed DC on a test server so I could try it out for another company I work for. How come the version I downloaded from the 30 day trail link is version 92025 and the version I'm running in my other offices is still at 92002? The hotfix links only go up to 92004 and when I download that it looks to be just SP2 and the updater says "this version is not compaitble with your product"? Configure DC Mobile App to connect to Remote DMZ Server?
Feature request. Allow Mobile App to connect via a Remote Office Server DMZ? Our Phone/Tablets do not touch internal networks.. And we do not allow VPN service on iOS/Android/ect. Thus the app is un-usable. Since we have a Remote Office DMZ Server already for Desktop Central & Field staff. If we could point the iOS app to that server.. It could prove useful. Yet another define target problem
After updating to Version 91122, in the "define target enhancement", I can't find any option to insert a comma separated list with computer targets. The previous version allowed to paste a list into the target field. Now I have to select those 100+ targets from a drop down list. Did I overlook something, or is this option really gone?
Desktop Central webpage not coming up - Apache crash error
Hi team, We came in today and desktop central MSP is not working. From the logs and event viewer, we can see that the apache server is not running and keeps crashing. dcserverhttpd.exe , faulting module: libhttpd.dll . How can we fix the issue? I can upload the logs if required.

We are running DC Build 92003 on Windows server 2008 R2 with MS SQL 2008 R2: I just download Build 92004. But when I try to apply it, I get this error: The ppm file that you have specified is not compatible with this product. I refreshed the download page and re-downloaded the build. Old Office Updates Trying to patch when no longer installed
Is there a way to fix this? We have several users who upgraded from 2013 to 2016 office (or older versions, 2007, 2010), and for some reason desktop central doesn't recognize the office versions were updated and tries providing patching for both. Java install failing
Recently I have been given the responsibility to handle all of the Java updates in our organization because the admin that was doing them in the past is no longer with us. I remember that he has had issues installing/updating Java with Desktop Central in the past but I don't know if he was ever able to resolve them. An issue I ran into was when trying to install a 32 bit version of Java (Java 8 u73) on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine the install/update would fail. This does not happen with the 32bit version

Turn off access to all WIndows update features
Would enabling the group policy "Turn off access all Windows update features" on our end point machines cause issues with Desktop central sending OS and 3rd party patches to them? We want to stop windows machines getting updates directly from Windows as they should be centrally managed by desktop central.
Detailed list of Disk Cleanup, and able to use it as a Configuration?
Is there a detailed list of descriptions of the Disk Cleanup items? I see "old chkdsk files", but is that a raw "*.chk" anywhere on the drive, or the checkbox option on cleanupmgr? Same goes for Service Pack Cleanup and Windows Update Cleanup. It isn't particularly clear what those do - is either a dism cleanup command? For that matter, does that simply invoke cleanupmgr, or does it run it's own thing? Many of the machines I support don't have cleanupmgr installed. Lastly, is there a way to use

I have 1 vista machines that both this months windows security updates patches and last month patches give an error Incorrect function. Has anyone else had issue with these updates on vista? Also not sure why 20290 MS16-035 Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 on Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (KB3135982) This patch is marked as not approved? I have it set to auto approve all patches.
Patch Mgmt - actual Adobe reader patches not working
Windows 7 64bit Enterprise edition installation (German Windows). Adobe Reader MUI XI installed. Last with DC patchable version was 11.0.12 -> 11.013 Version 11.0.14 (patch ID 303121) and also actual security update 11.0.15 (patch ID 303268) state "not applicable for this target" When I try to install the msp files from the repository manually, installation works fine. So it is not an issue with the installation files. I suggest a problem with the conditions set in DC for the patch installation.
Logon Failure. The target account name is incorrect
I am new to Desktop Central and in the process of adding computers. When adding some of them, I am getting the failure in the above subject line. This has happened on servers. I also get "the system cannot find the path specified" when adding WIN7 pcs. I have checked the firewall and turned it off and the systems are turned on. in the case of the subject line, I can RDP into the machine with the login credentials set in the Edit Credential button. But when trying to install the agent still resists.
Inventory scan issue after update 92002
I recently updated my version of desktop central and after that my server started to have issue with inventory scan. I start to scan the inventory the agent is showing that it is in progress but after some time i just get msg Failed to initiate scan task for PC. Scanning timed out. The weird thing is that path scanning work fine the problem is only with inventory scan. Before the update everything was working fine. Can you help?
Pending Reboot Status
Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to see all workstations/servers which have a pending reboot status? I'm not very good with the report builder, but is it possible to generate a report showing which machines need a reboot to finish installing updates? I'm sure this is already a view somewhere in here, but I can't find it.
reset software inventory and rescan computer
I have uninstalled some software that had different versions installed. Upon removal the software inventory still shows the older version even though it is removed. Is there a way to reset the software inventory and rescan the computer? I can remove the agent and reinstall to update and correct the inventory. That seems too cumbersome. Perhaps editing the database?
Computer Hardware report
Is there a report to list what hardware the computers have? I want to run a report to see all the desktop monitors on computer in a certain remote office. I found how to just see all monitor in a remote office but it does not list the computer name I want to see that report but with what computer has what monitor. Is there a such a report?
some patches marked as not approved
I have the patch database set to automatically approve patches but I noticed today that a bunch of patches from March 8 were marked not approved. Is there a reason why half the patches this month got marked not approved? Most the patches not approved are Microsoft office but some windows 8 and windows 10 patches are getting flagged not approved. See my screenshot for example.

hi Team, I'm trying to find the users for windows 7 workstation. I was able to pull the "Currently logged in user" However the fields "Last Logon User" and "Computer Owner" were blank. Any idea why these fields are blank?

Technician administraton
We were going to add some new users to our DTC environment but wanted to limit their access. My intention was to be able to create them jobs they could push out. However it seems that the write feature gives them full access to any one area and read does not allow them to execute anything in any given area. Is there any middle ground where a user is given rights to execute but not create jobs created by an administrator?

Ideas on deploying patches to freshly imaged systems.
I was curious if anyone uses DesktopCentral to do this? Our desktop support team uses SCCM to image/deploy new systems and re-image systems. The current method of deploying patches to these new systems is creating a task sequence and deploying a group of updates. This is time consuming however since that group of updates has to frequently be repackaged to add new updates. Until that is done it leaves a mess of patches that need to be manually installed after the system is imaged. We would like
Patches takes forever to install
We have configured automatic patch updated and my user community has been noticing that the patches takes forever to install. For instance, 30 updates will take hours to install. We are using top of the line hardware so I know that's not the issue. I have also noticed that each patch seems to create its own Windows Restore point. This means 30 patches will have 30 restore points created. Seems a bit excessive and is probably contributing to this issue. Does anyone have any ideas how I can speed
At My Wits End with Desktop Central - Cannot Package and Deploy Software
When Desktop Central works, it's fantastic, but I find that 90% of the time, it just doesn't work and the chat now staff it 100% incapable of actually solving any issues. Current iTunes package for Desktop Central Self Server Portal is broken
Last night I created a package using the most current DS template for iTunes (12.6.0.95) (x64). The package was created successfully and was added to the Self Server portal on the desktop successfully. When I went to install on a desktop this morning - I hit an error right away via the Portal stating that a file could not be found. Upon inspecting the package within the Desktop Central - I immediately noticed that whoever created the package script - made reference to a file called iTunes6464Setup.exe
