AD Manager Plus Upgrade not working
Hi everyone, I'm trying to upgrade my current version of AD Manager Plus 6.2.8 (Build 6280) to the new 6.3 (Build 6300). I downloaded the ManageEngine_ADManager_Plus_6_2_0_SP-10_0.ppm file from the website. When I start the Updatemanager, the process starts but it always ends with an "Uninstalling" and then an "Uninstallation Completed" status. My Windows version is W2K8 R2 Standard SP1 64bits
Put user in correct groups + put in correct OU based on department attribute
Hello, Is there a way in AD Manager that I can assign a rule that would place a user into the correct groups and OU based on the users department attribute? I guess I could so some powershell and use that as a custom script as part of the user creation template but wondered if there was another way Thanks P

Goodmorning, I am trying to find an easy way to search for users by e-mailaddress. We have about 1500000 users in our AD, so running a report every time and then doing a quick search is not an option. Is there a way to enable a search by emailaddress via the 'Search AD objects' in the top-right corner? If not, is there another option to directly search for an e-mailaddress? Report on folder permissions for 2-3 subfolder levels of a shared folder
Hi there I need to create a report on a shared folder that will show the access users have down to 2-3 levels (of the sub-folders). Is this possible, or is it an all or nothing report? I have tried the NTFS Reports\Folders accessible by Accounts, but that gives all the sub folders. Thanks in advance for any responses. Nick

Hello, We have an extensionAttribute in our AD that is a date. Although I have been able to use custom attributes and get this field included within the user report, I am not able to generate a report that selects only those user records for which this is field/attribute value is empty. Also, I am using a the long integer type but is there a way that I can format this to a date? Thanks Nabil
ADManager does not trigger address policy
Hi, when a user is modified with native Exchange tools, Exchange updates his e-mail addresses according to address policy. For example, when policy says that e-mail address is firstname.lastname@company.com, and the user is renamed from Peter Oldname to Peter Newname, Exchange adds a new SMTP address peter.newname@company.com and makes the old address peter.oldname@company.com a secondary one. Find out who gave an admin more rights in AD-Manager
We have about 200 Admins in our setup in which 10 are SYSADMIN for the domain. Each admin was given the rights of a role on specific OUs. As a routine check, I found that one of the admins were given rights to far too many OUs and I now need to find out which SYSADMIN did that. The Audit log seems to only show tasks performed in the AD, but what delegation tasks were done on the admins. Where can I look?

built in admin logs on by default - allowing anyone to logon with full admin rights
It appears as though the built in admin username and password are cached somehow such that they are the default value for all users - who are able to login with now full admin rights even though they don't actually know the password! We didn't realize this previously as we only had a single user license being used by one person, but we have now purchased additional licenses and are rolling it out - and found that all users could log on as admin and it was the default. Urgent assistance required!

Hi, is it possible to modify what is displayed on the default AD Manager Dashboard? I'd love it to display how many passwords have been reset in the last week and also how many new user accounts have been created in the last week. Is this possible?
Delegation - o365
Hi How is delegation working, on account sync'ed to o365? Is it set by delegation rules ? -could it be the same rule as for delegation on OU in AD? If user1 is set to do something on OU1, will user1 only be able to change settings and license in o365 for users with dirsync matching OU1, or will user1 also be able to change settings and license in o365 in another OU ?
Can you automate disabling user accounts that have been expired for 30 days?
We would like to automate our leavers process (which is a bit of a mess really), something similar to below: 1. Day 0 - A user account is manually expired (not disabled, so their out of office still works) 2. Day 1 - The expired account is moved to a particular OU in AD 3. Day 30 - The expired user account is disabled and moved to another OU 4. Day 60 - The disabled user account is deleted Does anybody know if it would be possible to automate steps 2,3 and 4 in AD Manager Plus? If so, how?

DirSync enabled vs. Without DirSync
We're in the process of moving some users up to Office 365, currently only for Lync Online. Right now things are still in testing. During this process we are running DirSync to sync users between our local AD and Azure AD. I'm looking at updating our ADManager Plus User Creation Templates to ensure this happens as smoothly as possible, but I'm confused on exactly what the differences are between "Create in Office 365 (DirSync Enabled)" and "Created in Office 365 (Without DirSync)." Hi Would it be possible to send/extract/fetch the Audit log in AD Manager to a central log server. For example Splunk or EventLog Analyzer? Sure, you could use scheduled report feature and send an email. But that might not be the most effective solution. On the topic of Audit log, how long is it kept within AD Manager? Is it truncated at any time?

Scheduled Report Editing
I'm using ADManager Plus. I'm able to create a scheduled report and it's functioning as it should. My issue is, when I go to edit the schedule report, nothing seems to happen. If I chose disable or delete, I get an immediate pop up asking OK or Cancel. When I click on Edit icon, nothing happens. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jane
ADManager 32-bit to 64-bit
I thought I posted this once, but can't see it anywhere. I installed the 32-bit version of ADManager Plus by accident, but need 64-bit due to 64-bit Azure AD Module. What is the process to upgrade? I found instructions for others, but they're slightly different.
Transferring reports between accounts
Is there any way to transfer custom reports between different accounts in ADManager? A coworker has set up custom reports that he can see when he is logged in. He would like to transfer them so that I would be able to see it when logged in with my account. Thanks
ADMP Report export to csv html and xlst fails
We ran an NTFS Permissions report for a large file server. The report took four hours to run and completed successfully with 122 AD permission groups in the report. When we try to export to csv, html, or xlst (we tried all three types), the export runs for about an hour then we receive a server connection error, which stops the process. We tried extending the timeout on ADMP, but the export still fails. All previous exports had no problems.
Users still in AD
I used the delete tool in ADManager Plus, but the users are still active in AD. Is there something I'm missing? I ran a report of inactive users and deleted those I wanted to remove. Thanks! Tara

Get the error 'Error while enabling Lync services for the user ' when creating a user. Are there any further logs I can look at? I've been through the troubleshooting guides and it does not look like it is any of these; 28.
