Email Notification configuration - 12.3.218
I just updated my OpManager server to 12.3.218 and now I can't seem to update/add profiles for email notifications. it gives me an error when saving it at the end... "The input specified for the parameter fromAddress does not match the required pattern." I'm assuming this comes from the From Email Address field? It's the same address I used before the update but it doesn't like any email address I enter... nor any other text I put in the field.
Error message when adding T1 as interface
When I tried to add an interface for a router I get the following error message "The parameter PhysAddr must have a maximum length of 100." I'm able to add the other 3 circuits with no issues. Please any advice, Thank you in advance for your help

OpManager 12 problem reading SNMP values from UPS MIB
We have recently began using OpManager 12 from OpManager 11. We are doing a fresh install and migrating our items manually. I have run into a problem with OpManager 12 receiving SNMP data from our UPS system MIBs. It doesn't appear to be able to process or translate the MIB definitions correctly and will not return certain results. I have verified that I have included all necessary items required for the MIB definitions to process correctly but I still get the OID string which I do not appear to
vCenter / ESXi Monitoring
Hi Team, I have below requirement. I am tasked with hardware monitoring for VMware. 1. vCenter 2. Multiple ESXi hosts Requirement: 1. I would like to monitor hardware & host OS performance. 2. I am not bothered about Guest VMs. Questions: 1. If i discover vCenter/ESXi, the guest VMs will be automatically discovered. In this case how do i go about licensing? 2. How OPM licensing works with vCenter discovery? 3. What are the OPM requirements to discover vCenter/ESXi (like the vCenter / ESXi version)?
Datastore monitoring v12.3
Can I monitor the use of Datastore and generate alerts when a certain limit arrives?
Workflow - Flexible Editing!
This seems like an idea that should have existed a long time ago. Right now, I can't delete tasks in a workflow without deleting everything underneath it. This makes it incredibly unforgiving when working on a workflow that accidentally gets a task slipped in OR I simply want to change the order of things. If I have a workflow with 20 tasks in it, I have to remember the entire tree in the event something gets deleted. See the attached image for the OOPS. Please add a little more flexibility to workflows
Groups - Health of group should be based on percentage or fraction
Right now the health of a group is based on a static selection of hosts. If one purpose of groups is to provide business service health of a cluster of servers, I shouldn't have to designate specific servers as health indicators. If I have a server farm of 9 servers, and 2 servers are down, technically the business services provided by that farm are still functional but the farm requires someone's attention or action. I should be able to set a percentage or fraction and use the same alert severities

Reports - Folder Monitor Reporting
It would be great to be able to report on custom monitors such as the Folder or File monitor. If we are monitoring a bunch of folders for a server farm, we could quickly get daily or weekly reports on the folder size or file counts of those folders.

Workflow - Retrieve active alerts or alarms
In a workflow under the OpManager tasks, there are a bunch of Alarm related tasks. I have a workflow that triggers off of an Event Log entry which then restarts a service. Unfortunately, I can't have the workflow automatically close that alarm. It would be great if the triggered workflow could retrieve current, active alarms (based on severity) and clear them as part of the workflow. This would make for a cleaner interface if a triggered alarm has technically been addressed from a workflow.
Event Management integration with ServiceNow tool
Dear Team, I have a requirement to integrate the Service Now with OP manager for Event management. In this case all the event data will be pulled by Service Now using the MID server. Please suggest is there any connector available to achieve this functionality. I would really appreciate for any response. Thanks, Manish

Probe seizing
Hello Team, Can you please help me to understand the OP manager probe seizing .Let say if we have 5k devices in our environment then how many probes are required in this case. Is there any limitation of that one probe can discover this much of devices and then have to install the other probe for load balancing. Thanks, Manish
Probe seizing
Hello Team, As per my understanding best practice is to monitor the 1k devices in single probe but if we monitor more than 1k devices then what issue and technical challenges we may face. Please let us know if there is any support document. Thanks, Manish
OpManager Report Schedule
Dear All, Can we schedule All Servers Disk Usage, CPU and MEMORY Reports in single .PDF or .XLS because it save a lot of time of systemadmin. Regards, ALOK systemadmin@hughes.in
Workflow: Add the ability to disable a notification
The only option available for a workflow is to manage / unmanage a server. Unfortunately this means we stop monitoring the server. During our maintenance when servers and services are restarting, we disable all email notifications and use the OpManager console to gauge which servers might not have rebooted properly by looking at the alerts. This reduces the noise but keeps us on top of issues. Please add a workflow item to disable one or many notification profiles.
Interface detection and SNMPv3
Hi, I've just found out, that for our Cisco-Switch (C3560E) interface detection only works when using SNMPv1/2. When I remove the device and re-add as SNMPv3 device, no interfaces are detected. Rediscovery doesn't work either. Will this be fixed with the upcoming patch? Regards G. Weiss
Linux devices incorrect Memory utilization
i have noticed that my op manager server is displaying that i have only 4 % of memory available on a linux server but when i go into the server it shows more than 40 % available. doing some research i found out that it is doing the calculation with the free memory data not with the available memory. is it any know fix for this.

Monitoring proactive
I made a video about connector monitoring. And I would like to hear from you. Is there anything else we can monitor and be proactive? Ideas to monitor something else? Link blog: http://tiagobigode.com.br/2019/12/14/monitoramento-conector-centrify-e-idaptive/ Link video: https://youtu.be/vBImXpjm8UU
Hardware Monitoring
Hello, We are running opmanager v12.3.227 and we have added a new device recently (HP ProLiant 360 Gen9 running Windows server 2012r2) and we don't see the hardware monitoring tab. We have similar devices added before with the hardware monitoring tab. We have tried rediscover the device but it still doesn't appear. In settings we have the Monitor Hardware enabled. Could you help us? Thanks! Cristina
Discovery Profiles Moved to Discovery -> Profiles
Currently: Discovery Profiles do not contain a list of discovery profiles. Discovery profile is simply a "discovery" configuration. To get to an actual list of "Discovery Profiles" I have to click Discovery -> Reports -> Click Profiles. That doesn't make any sense. If I am doing the same discovery action when adding new systems, I should be able to save that profile for later use. I should also be able to "save as" a new profile from an existing profile. Finally, the "Add New Device" function
Device template query
Hello Team, I couldn't understand the complete functionality of device template in OP manager when we discover the device then on monitor tab we add the the monitoring for which alert has to be generated. Now when we add the monitor manually in device during on-boarding process then what is the use of device template in this case. Can you pls brief or clarify the doubt. Thanks, Manish
Cancel of Edit Tab takes you back to dashboard
Hello, I am running into a minor nuisance with the new Edit Tab button. When attempting to click on the Green triple line box for a device, I am accidentally hovering over the triple dot button just above it, which caused the menu to drop down over the green button. I then inadvertently click on the edit tab selection. Once this is on screen I click No as I didn't want to go there, but then the page refreshes and takes me back to the main dashboard. I then have to navigate back to the device I was

Load balancing between different probes
Dear Team, One of my probe is monitoring more than 1k devices currently. I want to move some of devices from this over utilized probe to another probe which has less count(less than 1k) of the devices. What recommended approach I should follow in this case since I have to re-discover these devices from different probes and then enable all the monitoring template and thresholding for alert generation. Is there any way from which I can extract the dump and load in another probe to avoid any configuration
Duplicity of devices.
Hello Team, I have found that many devices duplicate devices are getting monitored in our environment. Let say device1 is getting monitored by two probes (Probe 4 & 5) and due to this out more licenses are exhausted. Is there any process from which we can remove these duplicate devices and if we add any duplicate devices in future then it should at least show some popup or validate for duplicate devices. Thanks, Manish
NOC view of OP Manager
Dear All, I am looking for a solution to showcase the dashboard of all the probes, its something related with to setup the consolidated view for NOC users. Let say if we have 10 different probe then I want to create the dashboard and that will be used a single pane of view for all NOC users. Please let me know is there any functionality available in OP manager. Thanks, Manish
