question for opmanager 94500 version.
q1: how to change opmanager's max memory? use ChangeMemorySize.bat? i don't know how to use it. q2: if i want to change opmanager msssql2008R2 DB name and sa account pass , what should i do ? q3: how can opmanager to monitor single cpu core 's usage ? like cpu3 q4: how can opmanager to monitor windows service , like File Resource Manager when it used cpu or memory resource > 90% then alert? usually the service is working , but used resource too high~ so i want to monitor this.
Notification method other than Email or SMS
Hi, Email is not a preferred option for the delivery of notifications in my environment. I'd like to create an XML file instead for each notification raised. I'm guessing that the Alarm Notification could be a script of some sort. Has someone already come across a similar and what would be the best approach to take ?
No backup?
How is it that this product does not offer any back up solution other than the batch files included in the bin folder? How hard wold it be to take the code from service desk plus and make a real functioning backup job in the UI? come on guys... Here comes "its on the road map"..... yea I hear that about everything here... sick of it really.
Unable to start OpUtils in Linux

CCTV View auto login after 9410 upgrade
Upgrade went great, we added domain, enabled domain users, and are able to logon with domain credentials just fine.. We have several CCTVs that autologon Using format below. Unmanager services
Dear goodnight. Is there any way to just let the alarm unmanager. Example: in case of server maintenance process or service be alerted unmanager this period, instead of the entire server. It would be important for the generation of indicators, which could make it show only the service in maintenance than the entire server. Thank you.
Auto or scheduled discovery
Hi there, We are using latest OpManager build 9410 but I can’t seem to find an option for auto discovery of devices. OpManager monitors, among other things, our workstations and we have changes on the network where PCs get added or removed. Is there any option that would allow us to have new PCs on the network automatically added to the OpManager under the Workstations template? Or any option we could schedule a periodical discovery on our Workstations subnet? Thanks, Nick.
BackupDB.bat not creating .ZIP file as expected in 9410
When running the BackupDB.bat in version 9410 it creates the 'temp' folder and contents but does not zip it up and clean up the temp folder as it did in 9200. Is this a know issue and if so is there a workaround? I need this working to meet a requirement for scheduled backups and all was working fine in 9200. Thanks!
I keep getting disk latency e-mail alerts and they clear immediately?
The message reads: Disk Read Latency is 10822 Disk Read Latency (Millisecond), threshold value for this monitor is 50 Disk Read Latency (Millisecond) However about 5 seconds later I get another e-mail to say the error has cleared. I get these around every 5 mins and it's very annoying. I can't set the limit much higher and I need to know what the error is. Thanks.
Intergration with Service desk
Looking at the trial versions of the OpManager and ServiceDesk. There seems to be some connection between the two products yet there isn't. How can we assign a ticket to a technician for say printer issues and a different tech for server issues? There is a pull down option on the "Configure Profile Details" page but you cannot select anything for Technician, Category or Priority, it states "choose a value" but the is nothing to choose from. How do we make this happen?
Remove all default device templates in Opmanager
Hi guys, I see that OpManager comes with 650 default device templates. Is there a way that I can remove all of these and then start over with my own device tempaltes? There is the option to delete them individually, this will take some time and I would prefer a one click method that can do this. Thanks~!

Wrong TimeZone and Problem in Downtime Scheduler

Suppressing alerts at specific times of the day/night?

We have a number of scheduled jobs running, such as backups from site A to site B at certain hours of the morning and each time they run, they generate alerts from the various switch ports that the devices are connected to and the interfaces on the devices themselves (i.e. the database server & the backup server). Hi, I have just noticed that if i change the thresholds of a specific interface from Admin \ Interface Templates all interfaces of that type on all devices are becoming managed. This has created a big problem as i made a change on Ethernet (type 6), so in some minutes i received hundreds of alarms from ports that were not managed before - as used by users. I have solved it going switch by switch and router by router (i have more then 100 equipments) and i have un-manage all interfaces apart infrastructure
Wrong Notes in the Admin \ Discovered Devices

Opmanager 9450 (PostGres) Unusably Slow !!
We are running the above and cannot use it , it is just unusably slow. We have it running on a windows 2008 R2 virtual server with 16Gb ram and 2 Virtual CPU's (2 cores per socket) We have tried logging this with support under Request ID :##4550657##, but not not heard a thing from them !. Anybody else have this problem ? Scott.
Can you Suppress specific Event ID Alerts?
We have an Exchange 2010 Server that's driving me nuts with the Event ID 1040 relating to ActiveSync heartbeats. None of our users are complaining about their remote devices and I've conferred with another Exchange Engineer and he said we can just ignore those, but I keep getting an e-mail alert every 30 minutes or so. Is there any way to tell OpManager not to send alerts for specific Event IDs?

Exchange Active User Count
Has anyone come across the exchange active user count being way out? Mine are showing (currently) over 2000 active users but I only have 500 spilt between 2 servers? Very perplexing...
Any Ideas why Opman 9.4 freezes up on Maps Tab
Any Ideas ?? Whenever clicking onto MAPS tab, the default view (all devices) never loads. the entire Opman instance becomes "frozen" (can't login from another session or use browser tabs) until application services are re-started. this install only has 153 devices so far, the server itself is not reporting any performance issues and is normal and responsive even when Opman is hung. Manual Device addition
We have a number of switches that currently reside in private network space and is not accessible from our host running OpUtils. Is there a way for us to manually add devices to OpUtils so that we can use it for inventory purposes and to hold the switch config files?

Error adding performance monitior - manual or templates
Manually added monitor to domain controller, monitor was for used space and free space. Have 29 Domain controllers but only 7 out of the 29 have the correct monitors. op manager version 9.2 This error is from a manual performance monitor add. These are Virtual machine running off VMware These are a mix of Windows 2008 Standard and R2 domain controllers. Any help would be great.

Longstanding Biztalk performance Monitors Gone Bad
I'm on Opmanager Build 9200 I have used some Biztalk messagebox host counters for over a year. Suddenly when I go to edit them, opmanager only displays a screen which says "Error!". Despite the error page, the values for the thresholds are still working, however I'm not comfortable leaving this way, as I am unable to modify them, and it could be matter of time before they stop working. Opmanager - Templates not appling
op manager version 9.2 Under the category Domain controllers I have 29 servers I am wanting to modify the template that is attached to them "AD domain controllers" to add in a performance monitior for used disc space and free disc space. I can make the change to the correct template and it say it applied successfully, but the new performance monitors are not applied, any ideas, let me know if further info, explanation is required.

Issues with Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 services - false positive alerts?
We've noticed an influx of false positives for Symanetec Endpoint Protection (EPP) 12.1 on our servers recently. Basically, it just reads that EPP is down, along with a couple of EPP services. I log in to the server in question and EPP is in fact up, and the services are running. We recently upgraded EPP to 12.1 and did not have this issue with version 11. Has anyone else experienced this when trying to monitor Symantec EPP 12.1 services? Thanks
