High CPU since upgrade to 10100
Hi there, been running Opmanager without an issue for the past 3 years but since updating from 9400 to 10100 now we are faced with High CPU usage of the Java.exe instance that op manager uses.. 95-99 % the server is unresponsive and now so is opmanager. we followed the upgrade path outlined from opmanager support. server specs: Windows 2008 R2 64bit Physical - DL365 2x 2.66ghz quad core Xeon processors 12gb DDR3 Memory Please advise

Need help with URL monitoring with authentication
Hello, support. I am running OpManager build 10100 I need to monitor web sites with user authentication There are 2 fields for userid, password, and form. These fields have input id boxes that must be filled in and submitted (form). How can I pass these info using the Request Parameters I don't think using the URL authorization details will work for this kind of authentication. Please help. Thanks a lot in advance.

Oputils Rogue Detection problems
Dear Oputils, I really thought i was going crazy. For a number of weeks now the rogue detection has been showing several mac addresses when devices connect to our network. But this hasnt always been displaying the switch port... or its ip address ... or both in some cases. I thought - ok i probably have some routers or switches that i havent populated yet. I have been through our network with a fine tooth comb and every router, switch has been added. I cant see how adding a printer to the router
Reverse Lookup Failed in IPAM
The majority of the addresses have no DNS information and are "not in AD". I;m not sure why this is the case when I've added the DNS servers under General Settings tab and added the AD Domain information under the Active Dorectory tab. Am I missing something?
Exchange 2010 virtual machine not recognizied by Opmanager
I have created Exchange 2010 virtual servers on our VMware environment. They are split up into CAS and DB servers. However, Opmanager does not recognize any of them as Exchange, so the monitors are not showing up. When I try to add Exchange Monitors from the performance tab, I receive an error "800706ba - The RPC server is unavailable." I checked the services and both RPC and WMI are running. I'm running Windows 2008 R2, and Exchange 2010 SP3. They are configured with load balancing and DAG's.
BUG: IP Address rolls back on device that has had its IP Changed when the device goes offline.
If you change a monitored devices IP Address, then the device goes down due to a network outage hours, days, weeks or months later, the device rolls back to it's original discovered IP Address. This bug has been in effect since version 9.

I'm trying to get the "measured value" into an e-mail notification profile. There is no predefined value in the list, something like $value, that can be used in the mail Subject text. As we use our e-mail system also for sending out SMS text messages, the message should be truncated as much as possible. Max. 144 char. Need to apply an interface template only to gigabit interfaces
I need to change all my existing gigabit interface thresholds from 30% utilization to 3%. I used the "Interface Templates" to create a new Ethernet template, but when I click "Select Interfaces to apply", it requires me to manually select each interface. The list does not show the interface speed, but I need to leave any 10/100 interfaces at 30%. Basically, how can I apply my interface template to only gigabit interfaces on a device that has a mix of 10/100/1000?

OPManager not detecting sms gateway
Hi all, My setup consists in a Windows Server 2012, Opmanager, and an SMS Gateway whose brand is Sierra Wireless Fastrack Xtend FXT009. I can test the sms gateway device correctly, using a putty session, via serial cable. However, when I go to Opmanager console, and try to add the com1 device, it says: "Modem is not connected properly. Check your settings!" There's nothing wrong with the device, because I can use it correctly. It as been tested correctly. Is there any other setting I must edit
Rediscover now
Hello, I've recognized an issue with Read-Only users. At a device snapshot a Read-Only user has the abbility to "Rediscover now" the device (under "Actions" menu). If he does, all device details are reset to default (vendor, category, type, monitoring, ...). I think a Read-Only user should not be able to reset these settings. Best regards Philip

I would like to create a script monitor that checks for the existence of /var/run/reboot-required. If the file exists, the monitor should be in alarm. If it does not exist, the monitor should be in the cleared state. I assume this would be a simple script. How do I do it?

Error condition in notification alerts
Hi, whenever my Internet link BW exceeds threshold (eg: 80%), i will get an email. I can see the error condition and severity as Trouble. can this be changed to something like Attention or Warning instead as it is BW utilization alert. But the error condition should be Trouble if it is a high CPU or Memory or Backplane utilization issue or the device is down. what i am looking is custom error condition values for different alerts instead of same for any alert. Groups in Opmanager
Hi, I would to know whether we can group few devices / servers into a group. Eg all routers will be in Routers group and switches will be in Switches groups and Exchange servers servers will be in Exchange group with Network and Windows being the parent groups. I have seen this in Solar winds, which is good in grouping devices/servers as per the criticality or functionality. currently this is what i see in my opmanager. Also the group should reflect in the notification mails. Thanks, Sridhar

There should be an option to add a chassis and specify the number of servers contained within, then dragging the servers into those slots. For example, I have a Cisco UCS 5108 chassis that is 6U, and contains 8 half-width blade servers.

We are looking to create workflows to automate some of our daily checks e.g. we want a workflow that checks at a certain time whether there is a file less than 24 hours old in a specified folder, if there is then no action and if not we want to log a ticket to support desk. Hi I am trying to see if there is a way to generate an SDP ticket, or even just send an email from an alarm in the alarms panel. Not an automatic one, that's part of the notification profile, and works fine. Choose Database By default OpManager comes with PG is along with the application. Database and application on the same server. In matter of performance that's good right? But PG is the database that I can trust 100%? I say this because of large amount of information, the information supports the PG? Hi Build: 10100 I have discovered the vCenter server with creds that have the automatically detect tick box. However when I add new VMs they do not appear automatically. All other VMs at time of discovery were fine though. How do I ensure all new VMs are auto-detected? Thanks
Exchange 2007 monitoring with OpManager 8 problem
Hi All, I am very new to OpManager and am trying to get it to monitor exchange however everything under 'Exchange Dashboard View' is either N/A or 0 req(s). SNMP and WMI is working correctly and I can add SNMP and WMI monitors manually (under performance monitors) and they report a status. Monitors under 'Information Store Mailbox Monitors' all come back with a "The Monitor did not respond to the test request'. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

I am planning to migrate my Opmanager 9410 Professional Edition to a new server. Currently using Opmanager 9410 with MYSQL database. I have already install Opmanager 9450 on the new server. Has anyone managed to get useful information out of the exchange dashboards? According to OpsManager my transport servers are sending over 100,000 messages per second and that I have hundreds of active connections to my public folders/mailboxes. My messages sent/min is also 0 which seems unlikely so I'm not entirely sure what's going on...
