Usage of any application over a period of time will have a proportional increase in data and content, which can cause a lag in the application performance. Clearing out unnecessary content ( like assets) is essential for the application. Usually, an individual or team has to take charge of managing assets and perform maintenance activities like monitoring assets/software usage and unused assets, etc.
Deleting assets or marking the asset status as expired/disposed will free the asset license in ServiceDesk Plus. One other benefit of managing unnecessary assets in an application will certainly optimize the overall application performance.
The data cleanup has to be performed periodically and it is a repetitious task that usually involves resources and its hard to manage. The ServiceDesk Plus build 11010 has automated this feature.
