Display timeout in Kiosk mode

Display timeout in Kiosk mode

I deploy a lot of Samsung Galaxy Tab A devices to our environment.  All of them are enrolled in ME MDM and they all use Kiosk mode to control the applications our users can access.  Different areas in our facility receive different groups/profiles, based on what applications apply to them, but always using Kiosk mode.  The latest Android OS version these tablets install is 8.1.  I was tasked with creating another profile for a new type of job function, and proceeded to create the group/profile as I typically do.

The problem i'm having began after the last major update to MDM, when it began to support version 9, and added display settings under the restrictions section.  Our devices don't support the display settings, as they're not running version 9, but now when they're in Kiosk mode, the screen times out and the device goes to sleep.  Previously, while in Kiosk mode, the screen would dim but not go to sleep as long as the device was charging.

Adding a new device to an existing group/profile that I have not changed since the update, the tablet will dim correctly and not sleep.  But if I create a new group/profile, any device that gets added to it will time out and sleep.  This is a large problem for us because it slows our users down having to enter the password, then reopen the applications, as they close/restart when the screen the device goes to sleep.  Is this a bug since you've updated MDM?  Is there a new setting I'm missing that will prevent the tablet from sleeping?  I would like to continue to have the screen dim after so long of non-use, as it previously did.
