A summary of the latest enhancements in ServiceDesk Plus!

The latest enhancements in ServiceDesk Plus revolve around a wide range of areas such as OLAs, notifications, custom views, chat, integrations and so on. Read on to know what they are.

1. OAuth:

Configure the mail server with Modern Authentication (OAuth 2.0), a standard that apps can use to provide “secure delegated access”. Learn More>>

2. Add images to notes:



3. Support for Always on Availability Group (AOAG) for MSSQL instances:

The "Always On Availability Group" acts as a backup server in case the primary MSSQL DB Server fails. Learn More>>

4. Operational Level Agreements (OLAs):

You can now configure the Operational Level Agreement to ensure that the SLA is achieved by the internal groups working on the request. OLA related widgets are also included in Dashboards. Learn More>>

6. HTML for Requester Notifications:

Requester notification templates will now show HTML renderings of the template. Currently, this is available only in fresh builds.

7. Request Auto Approval:

Auto-approve requests if already approved by the same approver at a previous stage or if the requester is also the approver.



This can be enabled/disabled under Admin > Self-Service Portal settings.



8. Allocate fine-grained permissions in roles, such as Adding Approval and Deleting Approval, to technicians.



9. Custom filters for Changes:

The checklist can be configured and added to request templates for technicians to follow before completing a request. Learn More>>

11. Allow Technicians to add users manually for specific instances:

This has to be enabled under ESM Directory > General settings > Application settings.



This option creates new permission in user roles, using which technicians can manually add users to their instances.

12. Associate request properties to tasks:

While mapping task templates to request templates, you can associate request properties to tasks so that technicians working on tasks can view the request properties. To Learn More>>, click here and here.

13. Group Chat and a few more Enhancements:

Technicians can now chat in groups among themselves. Also, request collaborators can start a group chat from the request details page. Learn More>>
